When I was in the first form of high school there was a 3rd former whose family name was Kerr.
They either:
a) really didn't know what they were doing, or
b) thought they would apply the 'boy named sue' philosophy

Countries should adopt the Norwegian way (possibly Denmark) where there is an official list of names to choose from. If one wants to be quirky they simply request that their choice be added to the list, some are and some aren't.
