January is fast approaching. Will he stay or will he go? Thoughts on Kane?

You do realise this article is about our loan sensation Herbie Kane right?

You've obviously attracted the intellectuals Nookie. The fact is that the situation seems utterly beyond Rovers' control.
It seems that his agent is hoping that the fear of another PL club swooping might persuade Liverpool to be more generous. I can't see him going to a Championship club. And there would be unlikely to be many (if any) able to match his agent's expectations.
We can only watch.

What's the opinion of Kane from Rovers fans? I've seen comments online saying he's the best player in League One and will go on to play for England, etc etc which seem a bit OTT.
I know he's a good player from seeing him in our youth setup but he wasn't at the level of Wilson or TAA although I think he's a year younger than them.

Yes he has everything. Skill, pace , vision , work rate and scoring ability. Best we have seen for a very long time in my view. Will he make it at Premiership level? My guess would be yes. But lets have him for the rest of the season please.

It is fair to point out that anyone's relative ability is difficult to judge when playing in League 1. There is the disadvantage of playing with less skilful people than those who would be alongside you in a PL team and the advantage of competing against less able opponents. However if you have watched football for as many years as a lot of us, you can make comparisons with other players who have been on loan in this league and who have developed (or not). We even have a very good knowledge of the quality of ex Rovers and other lower league players who have made in at PL level. Then too, you can draw on memories of seeing players like Kieran Trippier playing in the Championship for Burnley and being amazed that he was not operating at a higher level.
I agree that seeing HK in an England shirt is, as you say OTT, but he does stand out and did for some time before he started to score spectacular goals.
Finally he has improved with every match, making his first start in the second game of the season, so unless you have watched him here, you will not know just how enormously he he has progressed,

Cheers for the feedback gents
I think the club are happy with his development at Doncaster but we seem to have a process for our loan players which is getting them to sign a new deal before they go on loan. I guess it's to maximise resale value if the club decides they won't make the grade.
We had similar with Grujic in the summer but he eventually signed and went to Germany so I'd expect Kane will sign an extension at some point. We're currently finishing negotiations with Mane so I imagine that's taking priority within the club at the moment, which might be delaying things.
If Kane then signs I'd expect him to remain with you as he seems to be coming on leaps and bounds.
