On Saturday Wolves welcome AFC Bournemouth to Molineux in what will be the first ever meeting for the two sides in the top division. In 2014/15 season, the two sides met in the Championship with Bournemouth running out as 2-1 winners both home and away.
After a strong start to the season, winning 4 of their first 6 games, Bournemouth are currently on a run of poor results having won only 1 of their last 6 games. It should be noted however that 4 of those defeats came against Man U, Man C, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Bournemouth currently sit in 8th place in the table with 23 points.
Wolves also had a strong start to the season achieving a high of 7th place in the league table. However, some poor performances in October and November saw results fall away and a drop to 13th in the table. December has started well for Nuno’s men though with a home win against Chelsea and an away win at Newcastle. Wolves currently sit in 10th place in the table with 22 points.
After finishing last season in 12th place, Eddie Howe has been widely praised for his achievements with Bournemouth. His attractive and progressive style of play has been lauded by other Premiership managers and although their record against the top 6 sides is poor, it would be folly to ignore the strength of the Bournemouth team.
Wolves also are noted for the attractive, attacking style which Nuno Espirito Santo has introduced but by contrast, results against top 6 sides have been very good.
Before the end of the year Wolves have games against Liverpool and Spurs, Bournemouth have to face Man U and Spurs so both Managers will see this game as an opportunity to grab some points.
Wolves are without the injured wingback, Spanish international, Jonny Castro Otto and Bournemouth will be missing England international striker Callum Wilson, also currently injured.
If both teams are at their best, whatever the outcome, the game should be pleasure to watch for both sets of fans. After the win against Chelsea the atmosphere inside Molineux will be electric and the South Bank will be in fine voice!
Gem’s prediction: 2-2

Ryan Bennett signed a new 2.5 year contract

An amazing signing, and I am surprised Norwich let him go. He was identified as a future star player when in his teens at Grimsby, even taking the captain’s armband when was around 17. I believe Peterborough signed him, before Lambert took him to Norwich. A superb signing for us.

A good friend of mine is a Norwich season ticket holder and they were not sad to lose him and were amazed Wolves wanted him. After a promising start to his career there he had become error prone and was not worth a place in their team.
He had a really good season for us in the championship but was one of those that would likely. Get replaced this season and Dendoncker was probably signed with that in mind. But Ryan just keeps producing solid performances week in week out and has given Nuno little excuse to stop picking him

Latest weather forecast for Wolverhampton today is for a very wet day with a chance the rain could turn to snow

That sounds bleak. How do I prize a Fortnite obsessed 11 year old from his warm bedroom and Xbox on a day like this?

Fantastic opportunity to improve our league position today if we can get a win. We would overtake Bournemouth, if Everton lose at Man City in the lunchtime game we would overtake them. And if Leicester don’t win at Palace we would overtake them.
Can we be 7th by 17:00?

Seems like Callum Wilson is signing for Chelsea in January for £30 million. If he plays today I hope that impending deal is a distraction for him.

Will be a big miss for Bournemouth if he was sold. Doubt if they could attract anyone as good to replace him
