A form team, but one that has avoided defeat away from home rather than actually win will be no easy pickings. I think they were well fancied for promotion in August, but only lately have they begun to show form with only one loss in ten.
I'll say 2-0 (Rowe/Butler/Marquis/Andrew) 8000
And what excellent news of Herbie and Mallik also likely to stay - the top two are in sight!

Anyone who wasn't at the game will look at the stats and think we were robbed in the last seconds. Nope. We were outplayed, pretty much from start to finish, by one of the best sides to visit the Keepmoat this season. We didn't play badly, although our passing wasn't as crisp as it might have been, we played as well as they let us. Fair play to our lads, they never stopped trying and Wilks spent more time being fouled than any other two players. Oxford were lucky to keep eleven players on the pitch but teams do need to be good at the dark arts - and they were. Oxford will probably be happy with a point but wonder whey they didn't get all three. Lawlor should have got MoM and it was nice to see Alfie May get his goal. On to Gillingham.

Spot on Art Fold. We didn't play well at all the constant long punt upfield from Butler and Andrew in particular was bizarre from minute 1 and Kane had no influence on the game at all.
4 points in 2 games where we haven't played well could have easily been 0 over the previous years.
Ps Flertwoods before Gillingham 😉

Although it is frustrating to let in an equalizer in the 7th minute of the announced 6 minutes of added time, I agree with our manager and Art Fold and Azza that we did not deserve to win. Thank goodness for some saves by Lawlor and lots of shot blocking by others.
Kane was unusually invisible at times, and what a pity Copps slipped and gave them the first goal.
A very disappointing afternoon.

To be fair it was a game that always looked as if it would be settled by a few hefty slices of luck. Penalty, Copps slipping, a ping-pong goal stabbed in by May and a final equaliser going in off a post when it could just as easily have spun out of play. Incidentally it is my 26th wedding anniversary on New Year's Eve and I have been thinking of buying herself something Coppinger related. Thoughts?

Happy Christmas to Hound and all of you from the Left Coast of the US of A. Not being PC, I do not say "Happy Holidays" as so many over here do. If any non-Christians get "offended", so be it!
