Will go a long way to determining how realistic a top 4 spot is in terms of our ambitions this season. I donβt think any Arsenal fan, myself included, believed that top 4 was on the cards this season but Chelsea are looking pretty shaky at the moment and throwing up unexpected results. Unfortunately we are doing that too, but with Arsenal it is more expected.
Brighton (A)
Liverpool (A)
Fulham (H)
West Ham (A)
Chelsea (H)
Last season we picked up only 5 from 15 points in the corresponding fixtures so this time around we have a good chance to show our improvement under Emery this season. That being said I wonβt be surprised to see us come out of these fixtures with a similar points tally considering our defensive injury crisis.
A point at Anfield is vital, not for our top 4 hopes but our hopes of saving football. Liverpool cannot win the league We will also need to beat Brighton and West Ham. Would be happy with 4 points from those 2 matches but 6 would be excellent. Would like to beat Chelsea too but a draw would be a decent result.
I really hope Emery considers using the likes of Ozil and Ramsey at least from the bench against the big boys. I also hope we can get Mustafi fit and hopefully return to a back 4 which is when we have been playing our best football.
Coincidentally, Chelsea have 4 very winnable fixtures leading up to the game at the Emirates, but will have 2 SF ties with Spurs to manage on either side of our game (thank fack we are out of the league cup).
Btw, is anyone else worried about the complete lack of rumours linking us with any defender at all this transfer window? Think itβs obvious to most that we need at least 2 defenders and also a winger in this transfer window until we can re-evaluate the squad in the Summer.
Our next 5 games

You have paid a lot for Auba but you know he is worth the money. You need to pay big for quality.

£2.75 million for Van Persie
£25 million for Torreira
We have our model and we have to accept it.

2.75m for Van Persie is a long time ago.
When was the last time you had pay that money for quality.

£7m for Guendouzi was an absolute steal.

It will be a real test of the squad, and of Emery. The fear is he will prioritise the Liverpool game and we end up losing both.
We have both Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi on 4 yellows, so another for each against Brighton would see them miss Liverpool. Added to our defensive issues, we could be going to Anfield with a very weak XI.

Dnt understand the obsession and hatred they have towards liverpool. Fans on ja606 are weird makes u question any of then actually support the clubs they claim to. Mainly Spurs and Arsenal fans seem to act like theres rivalry where there isnt.

Jumps all over any article I do.
Arsenal are kind of irrelevant at the mo, would laugh though if they beat there North London rivals to a top 4 place.

There is a strong online rivalry between Spurs-LFC and AFC-LFC.
Part of the reason we don’t like Liverpool is that their fans act like they are a really successful team but, actually, they never win anything.

Lol there is no rivalry. Arsenal fans like fans of nearly every other club just hate Liverpool
I’ve never met a non Liverpool fan who likes Liverpool

Mane Man That Dracula point is soo on. My wife keeps going on about it.
And why we have such a hatred of Liverpool is routed in the history of the 70s and 80s you are probably too young to remember how we broke you as a championship contender until now.
