3 Horse Race - Back On

Well done City, deserved the win last night. The intensity of the match, very evenly played out, made for it to not be a classic, but did show the two sides are quite evenly matched and by far the best two sides in the league.

Here's to an interesting run in ... I'm taking nothing for granted!!

Yeah - I think we’ve blown it too.

FFS man up.. you are still massive favorites, you have the best defence and a 4 point lead ... wish we had that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing to do with manning up. I just happen to think City are superior and at the start of the season, if City had started on minus 4, I'd have still backed them to win the title.

I'm not being defeatist here - Liverpool have had a remarkable run but 4 points at the turn of the year is marginal.

Who knows what's around the corner? City might just blow it themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are a defeatist.
We are over halfway through the season, have played city twice already and sit four points clear at the top of the table.....WTF were you hoping for?

There's also a sense of realism that we are up against the best side in PL history who got 100 points last season and we haven't won the league since almost half a decade before Friends was originally aired.

Realistically city will draw and or lose at least a couple of their games . Prob drop 4 to 6 points which means we can afford to drop 8 to 10 points so can still afford a couple of losses may be 3 , if we can win all our games til Utd then I think we will be ok . Need to remember we are in a better position than city and have same games ahead of us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with that. 95/96 points wins it this year I reckon.

Yes but it’s not the start of the season is it? There’s less than half a season left. You can afford a couple of draws or a defeat with City still having to get maximum points. They’ll have to play 3 extra games in the CC while you rest. It’s all set up for the Liverpool to win it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this, the fact our two main rivals in the title race have CC cup semis (and hopefully a final) to play gives us a slight advantage before the CL kicks off again.

Surprised at the negativity of Liverpool fans on here.

Last night will be the toughest game you play all season and it easily could have gone your way.

No reason to think Liverpool can't go on and win the league.

Just a bit of disappointment at an opportunity lost I think. Win the next league game and most will feel much more positive I'd have thought. Ultimately we're still in a good position.

OP, you say "by far the best 2 teams in the league"
But Spurs are only 2 points of City, and 6 off yourselves

Hardly by far the best 2

I take your point, and Spurs have been phenomenal, I just think they will fall short due only to their lack of depth, but still they are having a fantastic season.
