Don't get me wrong, you are a nightmare of a club.
Using the sovereign wealth of a nation, and even then not being able to abide by the rules when spending that wealth.

You do realise that Liverpool also broke FFP rules as well but were let off because they were not in Europe at the time.

I always thought it was team game, not an individual player game, you live and learn.

I am neutral on this and I go back a fair way, but I do not recall Liverpool spending huge amounts of money on transfer fees in their glory days. If you look at the side that won the European Cup in 77, the start of their really successful period there were no huge signings by the standards of the time. and in the 60's it was Everton, who were known as the Bank of England club.

Liverpool did not break the British transfer record for buying a player till Collymore ironically after their last top division title.
