Referee wrongly overrules linesman who was spot on giving Kane the offside. Is this the future of football? Why not scrap on the field referees and let the game be refereed from the VAR studio?
It's crazy how in our past 2 league games we've had 3 goals WRONGLY chalked off as offside and now with actually video assistance they still manage to fack us over.
Striker needed badly.
VAR or Birdbox?

He was offside. VAR doesn't work. Your manager doesn't like it either, There's something not right with it.
Also is it just me or did nobody really notice how Bellamy let slip City got Burton Albion in the semis when the draw wasn't to take place until the following night.

I thought he was onside myself. Even if you think he wasn't it was marginal, so I don't see how it's a big deal.
Shame VAR had not been around when Chelsea got their phantom goal against Gomes.

The problem for me isn't VAR it's the fact we cannot score.
You need goals to win games and we literally are not scoring enough goals

Surely the point here is that neither acute angle is good enough to be used for making offside decisions. One shows Kane off side, the other shows Kane onside.

This. It's crazy how there can be 2 technological views of exactly the same incident, and both are providing conflicting views. Surely they can perfect this to such a degree so that the evidence is indisputable, like they already have done with goal line technology.

The big issue is that they allowed an offside call to be made based on an angle that was 30 yards ahead of the line.
Put simply, when VAR is inconclusive, you should refer back to the linesman’s original and correct call.
Not Tottenhams fault of course - good for them.

I think that's pretty fair.
I wouldn't say go back to the linesman's original and "correct call" though, they may well not have been correct but if the decision is not helped by VAR footage then you simply have to discount the footage.
All that said, if the linesman or referee gets to view a replay of an incident and decide they made the wrong call then it's still going to be open to their interpretation.
For me giving them another go at getting major decisions correct is still a big improvement and I've personally never seen it as something that will provide 100% accuracy, rather it will improve refereeing
Overall VAR will never be 100% accurate, people really need to get a grip with that.
Although down the line with some serious technology offside could well become similar to goal line tech but we're clearly not there yet

Seems Chelsea's version of the incident was taken AFTER the VAR pic

So let's not hear any more about it then chaps, just be grateful the goalie didn't get a red card.

forget his feet the rule states if any part of the body you can score with (anything but hands and arms therefore) his body is lean forward and is therefore offside by more than you can see by the line showed on the pitch. Offside apart that dive to try to cheat the ref should also have been caught as flying through the air in a posed two legs perfectly aligned is no way an actual accidental fall he staged it(once again) who wants a cheat for captain.

It wasn't a red card offense, but I am grateful the ref knew the rules for that situation for GKs.
