Emery is starting to unsettle his players by not addressing the issues the squad is currently facing. Arsenal is conceding quite a lot of goals, while also they're lacking creativity.
He left out Ozil thinking Arsenal can perform without him, but they are lacking creativity without him. Ozil is a world class player even though some people question his work ethic.
However, when we come up against midtable teams or below he has to start, or at least should be on the bench to change the game.
If I have to guess the Ozil situation. And, why Emery is freezing him out?
I'd say Emery probably asked the owners some funds to improve the squad on January and they told him he has to sell some players before he is allowed to spend. In addition, the club's wages is very high and as a result he identified Ozil as a big block of what he's trying to do and he told the owners he doesn't need Ozil. Because he isn't part of his plans and this is his way of telling the owners. Although this is backfiring on him.
Emery used to be energetic type on the touchline, but last few games he looks like someone without a clue.
Man Utd has closed the gap on us and we had once over eight points gap between us and now only three points with a game in hand, while we're currently seven points behind from top four.
Unai Emery & Ozil

You have to put the better of the team ahead everything and as things stands, Ozil should be a regular starter, especially over dross like Xhaka and Guendouzi

From an outside perspective, it makes no sense.
Publicly says he wants Ozil to stay, and he can’t even get in the squad?
Your midfield looks appalling at times, Xhaka is an absolute car crash and yet your most creative player isn’t even in the 18? Baffling.

It's Wengers fault Emery can't get anything out of Ozil. I know Ozil matched the Premier league assist record in one season under Wenger but that was a fluke

Is he unsettling the players or is that a guess? Dont mean that in a bad way, genuine question.
Pretty much every game Ive seen Arsenal play this season Emery has changed the system mid game.
At first I was "yeah thats good management. Hes getting to know his players and adapting'.
Half a season in and Im now thinking 'why arent you getting this right from the start?'.

Saying that I cant think of a single system that gets Arsenals best players on the pitch without exposing what I believe is a defence low in quality.

Emery needs to come out and clarify the situation, if he wants him to leave then say it publicly. Pointless saying he has a future here then keep leaving him out of the 18, it's making it a bigger issue and distraction.

Ozil is a good player. But he is a highly specialised player and if Emery wants him out, short term pain may be better in long term gain.
He needs to. Identify who he wants and have the people dealing with signings to work on bringing them in in the summer.
While Ozil isn't in his plans, he may need to adjust his position in him until then.

You really really really need to change the f*cking record. You're starting to sound f*cking insane... Literally nobody brings up Wenger anywhere near as often as you do, yet you're trying to sell the narrative that everyone is still blaming him..
