United must surely sign a striker before the Transfer Window closes. Osman Sow has been mentioned and that would be good. However, if that fails to materialize I would hope United go and sign David McMillan from St Johnstone.
He's Irish, in the target man mould but quicker than Jon Daly. We cannot continue with this pathetic lone striker, Safrankos isolated and we have to win games, which means scoring goals.

"quicker than Jon Daly."
So is continental drift.
Would like someone to make runs off of Safranko. He's clearly the best player at the club but has no-one to pass to, and he can't quite do everything himself. He's not exactly the quickest either, so someone nippy would be nice. Simon Murray would probably be perfect but I doubt he's clamouring to come back.

Agreed. Safranko had a good start as teams found it difficult to handle his energy and ability to out jump the centre backs. The opposition are now used to the tactics making it ineffective.
We need to get the ball on the deck, playing through the wing backs to use his strength in the air. We have an issue with pace in the middle of the park. As much as I like Fyfie, I think he still has a fair bit to go in the fitness department. Just not up to it at the moment.
Harkes and Nesbitt must be given a start to freshen up the team and inject some energy. Nicky Clark should also be given more game time as well.
We don't have a lot of time to get it right. We're two games away from being, realistically, out of the running for automatic promotion. We can still win the league but are running out of chances. We were outfought and outplayed by Ayr on Friday.
Something has to change now, or we face the prospect of another playoff situation. With the way the results up top are going, we, if we got through to the final could meet Dundee. Much as I would relish a Playoff win against them, I'm not sure my heart would hold out.

Welcome back to the Arabs who have returned after a break. Good to have you back on board.
Agree with much of what was said here. Safranko looked terrific when he first started with us but I think his general link up play has been poor and this has become more and more apparent as the weeks have gone on. If we are to persist with a lone frontman we need someone who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Safranko isn't doing this.
I think the recruitment this window has looked good but we just have so many areas of the team that need improved it's hard to know where to begin. Creativity on the wings is lacking for me, so I wonder if, with an attacking right back signed, we'll go with a diamond midfield with the full backs pushed on?
