it just seems very strange that only a week ago he was saying there was no place for him at the club and he was not in poch's or the clubs plans

Well if you say he's in our plans, when he aint, he'll never go! Saying he's not in our plans makes it very clear to VJ that he is not needed.

But he stayed anyway, so he may as well be in the registered squad in case.

Obviously his goals record doesn't look good, but in terms of general play in season 16/17, I often found myself quite impressed. He does have this habit of backing in and pinning himself to a defender when receiving a ball, but rarely did I see him hustled off it. I remember a few times where he held the ball up to play in a runner in behind, e.g. Son's goal at Swansea to put us 2-1 up.. Woefully underused this season IMO.

Most sensible explanation is that after not selling in the window, the idea is to get him some sort of game time to make him more sellable.

Poch said he discussed the return of Janssen to the team. That seems a bit weird he also said previously that he was'nt part of the team for a reason but did'nt mention what it was. Seems like it might actually not be football related.
I think Poch only freezes players out because of attitude like Townsend who had an arguement with one of the coaches.

Especially in this weather.

My thoughts are the powers that be are running the club into the ground and that lots people will laughably criticise the manager when he leaves over lack of ambition.

What is the project I keep hearing of?

The one where we win trophies and finnish top 4 every season with a lower net spend that Palace.
