Imagine you are Ed. Its 2016 , our current manager is largely considered not good enough to get us back to winning league titles, and City have Guardiola.
Would you appoint Jose? Yes he has the potential to implode in his 3rd season, and employ a pragmatic style of football, but would that matter if he was able to win a prem title or champs league with United in his first 2 seasons? Lets.not forget at this point he was available, was one of the few managers around to previously have got the better of Pep and with 2 champs league wins and multiple domestic titles, was clearly the best qualified at that time win us the top trophies.
So, in summary, would you take Jose as manager in the knowledge the football wont be great and he might have a breakdown in his 3rd season if it meant he won us the prem or champs league in his first 2 seasons?
Jose good appointment at the time?

I have nothing against a dress code in golf. But I won't go to a golf course or anywhere else for that matter where people are stuck up.
