Interesting Arseblog interview with David Ornstein, talking about all things Arsenal - amongst them the window just gone, the possible budgets for the summer (with and without CL qualification), summer transfer targets, behind the scenes power moves... it’s all there.

Werent we supposed to be financially competitive after the stadium payments were reduced. Yet wont even be able to compete with mid table clubs.

With Bayern, who had a massive profit in transfers last summer...

£40m is so much money.

Ornstein says £100m pre-sales. But I am sure the OP and the like minded will ignore this.

TBH honest not many of our players would get into the United team. Probably Bellerin, Torriera and Aubamayang, the latter would thrive with Pogba and his balls over the top.

United team is quality and if you manage to get a top class CB and maybe a CM/DM you will be right up there.

Think Lukaku needs to be sold though. So many better CF out there for you.

40 million these days is nothing without some great scouting or bargain deals.

For a start people misunderstand what these budgetary leaks actually mean.

£40m, £50m, £100m can actually be a lot of money when take into account that wages and transfer fees are amortised over the length of the contract.

So a player could cost £80m + £50m in wages over 5 years. That would be £130m/ 5years. or £26m per season against your budget. So a £50m budget can actually mean signing two players of £70m+!
