I can't sleep so morning fellow reds!
I couldn't help but notice there was no match thread last week when we were playing spurs. I read on an article on the chelsea board that Andy carrols ponytail's gone from JA606? (hope this isn't true!).
Hope all you wums are proud of yourselfs!
Match thread last week? (admins?)

I think most articles get at least one negative comment, I doubt there is much we will ever be able to do about that. Though I welcome anyone to post decent content which has a positive effect on the board, as that is what we need amongst other things to get the board back on track.

The thing is Admin1..some of the LFC fans need to shoulder the blame, myself included yes.
If you look at the amount of articles that receive comments, it is mainly the wum articles that have the most comments. So if there is a good article up, no-one hardly comments on it.
See http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/39507/ for example.
Then see this http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/37966/
Now you tell me as a poster, which will you rather do?

We would have removed that second article if there had been a complaint as it adds no value to the site regardless of the fact it generates comments. We would rather have http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/39507/ any day of the week and such articles would get more comments as a result of the fact actual LFC football fans might actually deem the board attractive enough to use. The only articles we deem successful based on comment count are the match threads. I can understand the temptation for people to provoke antagonise as that often gives people/WUMS the attention they crave, but we have little interest in indulging them to that effect.

Fair enough article http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/39507/
was done to death so no-one really had anything more to debate about. But if you as a poster comes onto the board, post a very legitimate article and get no responses. Then you post a pointless article and get countless responses, it is human nature to fall the latter category.
After all your articles are all about the comments you receive, thats what forums are for.
Im not taking it out on anyone but the people complaining should act first then complain. Because we all accomadate the wums everytime we comment on their articles(myself included, however i dont have that big of a problem with them.)
So its upto the users.

I disagree - I believe forums are about the content, not the quantity of comments. I don't care if an article gets 300 comments if they are all childish and antagonising comments with in them.
However if there are 30 sensible comments which encourage debate and add to the site, then the objective of the site has been met.
I do however agree with your second point, it is up to the users but sometimes people need a gentle nudge in the right direction.

I see its much better today. People are trying to debate some serious topics.
I should have explained it better. When you create an article you sometimes think about the possible responses you might get and how you going to counter them. When the comments dont appear, you feel as if your article was a waste. I enjoy a good debate but if no-one is willing to then, what he hell!
Comments should be there.

Yes, I am completely shocked that my article has not been criticised as biased against Man United, Chelsea or anybody else, instead I have received excellent comments and debate. I could get used to this!
