Wow, what a night!
This is what Poch is talking about when he says top 4 and building the club is more important than winning the odd domestic cup
We just tore apart one of the best teams in Europe.
We are definitely in with an outside chance of winning the champions league and the league. Unbelievable really. COYS.
That's what it's all about

Couldn't agree more, winning a domestic cup (although perfectly nice) is chicken feed compared with locking horns with Europes top boys.
Look at who Arsenal and Chelsea are playing!

So you rather crash out in the last 8 of the CL then winning the FA cup?
My ass you would.

To be fair OP, Spurs beat Dortmund home and away last season, so the result was not a surprise to me. I fancied Spurs 3-1 last night. The performance though with key players missing, was though.

First thing, Spurs haven`t reached the last eight of the CL yet, secondly what makes you think they would crash out if they did? They have shown over the past eighteen months they can more than match, and go toe to toe with Real, Juventus, Dortmund, Inter Milan and even went to Barca and got a result. Spurs over two legs would be a very formidable opponent for any teams left in the CL, especially seeing as their main players are immently returning.

Both sides of this argument are perfectly valid. While most spurs fans love being in the business end of the CL we also recognize we have a great history in domestic cup competitions. The stadium finance is the big driver but its understandable that some might get frustrated when perhaps the squad depth is such that its hard to maintain a top 4/ title push and compete in the cups especially around the Christmas period when the games come thick & fast (injuries will happen to the best players, who play the most in a smallish squad). I'm not suggesting for a second that we are in position like City where we can complete on 4 fronts, but if we are looking to become one of the elite clubs then maintaining top 4 and a trophy every few years shouldn't be to unrealistic an expectation. Hopefully it comes in time & hopefully the worst of the strain on the squad is behind us.
Its all about managing expectations and trying to get to where we want be as quickly & as painlessly as possible. I'm the 1st to moan & I have my issues with the way Levy does things, but right now Poch is making him look like a genius.... Fair play to him and his players
