The Sun gleeful took a picture of a fan seated alone in a corner of the Emirates creating an impression that the game was watched by just that fan. They go ahead to highlight that match was attended by the lowest number of fans to the Emirates since it was built. Fair enough. The Daily Mail writer Matt Lawton to cap his largely negative match report includes a similar picture to drive his point home. This made me wonder how other teams fared in terms of match attendance. Here is the breakdown (According to the BBC).
Arsenal 46,539
ManU 31,031
Spurs 15,023.

Considering it was away and the United end was sold out...
The fact that you have had a go at journalists for using misleading images to portray something that isn't true, is pretty much what you have done with this attendance figure.
Hypocrite.

The figures Arsenal release are for tickets sold, not attendence.
Trust me there was nowhere near 46k people at the Emirates.
That said, as the above poster has aluded to, the above "newspapers" are hardly going to write a positive article as it won't generate interest.

I was there last night. To me,no way was the crowd 46,000.More like 26,000 and 5000 of them were Shrewsbury fans. This is just the wake up call Wenger and, more importantly, the board need.Unless things improve rapidly, this will become a familiar sight at the Emirates im afriad

Look at our CC attendance figures (as well as those of other larger clubs) for the early-round games last season, and the season before and you'll find that this statement....
"This is just the wake up call Wenger and, more importantly, the board need."
....is redundant.
