Celtic Fans & Mark Warburton

Firstly, celtic fans are being hammered in the media for their behaviour at rugby park and it is fully justified.

Shouting about boyd being a fat orange... is one thing, its wrong, but throwing things at him is disgusting, as is the damage done to Killie's stadium, its chimp like behaviour and i hope the ones responsible are hammered for it. No need for it.

Secondly, had a listen to Warburtons interview on opengoal, i'm really enjoying these, you see the difference when peoples thoughts are not dramatised by the media and on that point he makes some very good points about the media in this country and the expectation levels.

Talking about the medias approach to delia and then gives and example of when it was a slow week for news and we was asked about rangers in the english premiership only to have his answer sensationalised with words like "demand".

I personally think he sounded realistic about his chances in the premiership that season, we had an outstanding year and it was rangers first season up, they have since spent megabucks and i think had they stuck with him he would have improved them with the money they have spent since he left.

as ever, patience is the problem with old firm fans, imo very much a victim of that.

Quite a bit of revisionism with Warburton from some.

He was a nice guy. But had no plan beyond having more of the ball. His tactic of a high line with no pace at the back meant that breakaway goals happened on an almost weekly basis. Add that to the hardly ever shooting tactic as it might lose possession of the ball and it amounted to dropped points.

His first 6 months were brilliant. The opposition then worked rangers out and after that it was a hibs collapse in the league and one great cup result. As many dropped points in that second half of the championship than Rangers are currently dropping in the premiership probably wouldn't be much of an exaggeration.

In the the premiership there were embarrassing results outside of Celtic, the humiliation at Tynecastle in particular stands out. He was not cut out to take rangers to the standards needed. Gerrard probably isn't either but that doesn't make Warburton any more capable

It’s like players who’ve been out for ages become better inside folks heads
He was a decent enough man I think he just didn’t have it tactically at SPL level
Out thought on a regular basis
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And despite that we saw hoards of bears with breed wrappers on their nappers 😂

I genuinely felt sorry for him when Traynor hijacked that interview he was doing

From what I remember there was a photo doing the rounds of a guy, as in one, Rangers fan who chose to put a bread poke on his head.

Glad to see the Seville calculator’s in good working order

That’s fine I can handle it. Perhaps somewhere in between my estimate and yours the truth will lie

Perspective is needed too on that situation. Rangers had brought in a kinda well regarded English manager. Ashley and his allies were being removed from control of the board after one of the most depressing seasons of supporting rangers I've experienced.

Things looked positive and an absolute hammering of Hibs made it seem it was right to be excited. Add on I think 10 or 11 straight league wins and yes Warburton was for a time very much in favour. Honeymoons end and his did too.

Yep and along with your previous post it’s also very true that teams, players and managers sussed us out and we were forced into playing tippy tappy around the box for most of the season while getting hit in the break and also the fact being all too apparent that our defence was a weak watery fart.

Personally the orange thing does not bother me. The attack does. That's the problem.

I was nearly murdered for the same thing. I was more concerned with the attempted murder

Watched Warburtons interview last night. A good watch and he’s certainly a very intelligent and witty man. I still don’t think he’s ruithkess enough to manage at a club that’s expected to win most games . Think that was his downfall but his knowledge of the game, coaching e, everything really seems to be excellent. He’s just maybe too nice a guy imo
