"What an incredible night that was. Me and Stephen Wright were hardly able to contain ourselves at the whole experience. Of course Gerard started me which was a nice gesture and I think it was probably Stephen’s appalling hygiene which kept him on the bench that night. His hygiene was the reason why Frode Kippe moved east.
Still beating anyone 8-0 on your full debut is really quite something, even if it was a gang of spine-peaked bushwackers. Stoke were are an appalling team back then I must say. I remember one of their players trying to put me off at a corner by telling me about his Dad’s gangrene on his shaft. I laughed hard but I must admit the message eventually sank in.
I’m not sure how familiar readers are of the team bus rules but it’s surprising how many groupies are actually allowed on. As long as they’ve got a proof of I.D. and £50.00, Gerard used to allow certain players to scoop them and bring them back with us. So me and Stephen managed to find ourselves a couple of groupies and we were able to get them on. I had to slip in an extra £30 for Stephen's but he was a friend back then so I didn't mind too much. He still owes me £20. I don’t know what they teach you at school but boy let me tell you there is nothing which tops getting some brains on the backseat of the team bus.
Gerard and Phil didn’t even notice that little spliff laced with purple haze that I got loose with while the bobbing was in motion. I even remember Pegguy copping a bit of head in the middle isle. For the night we were celebrities. Celebrities getting brain on the bus.
I shed a tear when I think back. Many nights I cry. I curse God and I ask why did the dream not carry on? Why can’t I go back to meeting nice groupies and getting brain on the bus instead of messing with stupid girls like Tina, Louise and Marcus. I miss the hoe’s."
Richie Partridge, now a bummy lower-league player, releases an excerpt from his upcoming autobiography, entitled 'Stoke, Brain, Hoe's and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.'

Lower working class? That implies that you, well, work? Or at least have a trade? Spill the beans, Stig!?
I just assumed you moved bricks and ho's in equal amounts to get some (mad) coin...
If it turns out you're an admin assistant at the local Wickes DIY centre, I'll be disappointed...

I got some brain on bus once...sheet is dope. Especially when the bus hits some potholes, speed bumps or even if they have weak shocks.

But my roots be in a poor lower working class family. These days this kid got major paper but I done stayed on the manor. Real recognise real. Home be home bro. I aint working no 9 to 5 bro I move in higher circles. But I stay entrenched.
