Forest 3 v Dull 0 Match Thread 0-0 1st Half

Gate; 29,397

Hull City are bringing a sell out 2000 away following with them tomorrow.

Jordy de Wijs and Eric Lichaj are both expected to be fit despite coming off during last weekend’s victory over Birmingham City, while Fraizer Campbell is available again after a fortnight out with a hamstring problem.
Hull are hoping to press on and try to get into spitting distance of that last play off place.

Jack Robinson is banned for 3 games I believe after his yellow card at Stoke. This gives Martin a headache regarding the number of loanees he can field in his match day squad.
Matty Cash hasn't fully recovered from his achilles strain. I don't think Lewis Grabban will be risked either, so an opportunity for Leo Bonatini, if MON thinks he is fit to start.

Pele MOTM for me, but plenty of good performances.

Windy day, close game, Forest shading it, then BAM! Wonderful Carvalho strike followed by two more goals to help the goal difference. MON looks like a genius after 2 of his subs scored. Playoffs not yet out of reach.

Agreed on Pele. What a debut! Osborn superb also.

Murphy was Murphy and Bonatini slightly better than usual Bonatini.

Other than that, everyone had great games.

Performance of the season for me. We look fitter, everyone seems to get the game plan and it was less hoof yesterday. Maybe we needed to get back to basics first?

Got $200 on us at 34-1 a few weeks back for promotion. Feeling slightly more confident!

What with Derby bobbling about like an old brown log and Brizzle struggling against the top half, it seems as if we keep on doing what we're doing then we're hitting those play-offs!!

With Forest playing twice this week compared to Bristol and Derby playing once, two wins would see us in sixth, regardless of their results.

Boro have Preston (H) and Villa (A). Hell, they only manage a draw and we have a chance to be 5th on GD.

If we can get Byram, Cash and Grabban back after the international break then sixth is ours to lose surely.

Now, just the simple task of winning the next two games!!

Villa and Brum drawing today would slsi help the situation. Sure to be a feisty bruiser at St Andrews.

They were three cracking goals! can we be that dark horse team? That would put some sheep faces out of joint for sure.

There are about eight dark horses in the race for sixth spot. I've been saying that we won't make the play-offs, now I'm thinking if not us then who?

We have made some good signings in January, we have a good management team and we are in form. Who else can say that?

Wednesday night will be massive.

Osborn had his best game at LB yesterday. Pele is like a mobile Ben Watson. Yates continues to thrive. Darikwa was very good. Grosicki and Bowen were anonymous. If we can keep Grealish as quiet on Wednesday, we have a great chance.

Wednesday night: Back five no change; Colback, Pele, Lolley all start. Who else? Does Yates deserve a rest? Did Bonatini and Murphy do enough to start against Villa?

Carvalho and Ansarifard have both put their cases forward well after the Hull game.

Ansarifard is an intriguing one. He did quite well for Iran at the Asian Cup. He could be the unknown quantity that could really give Forest an edge in these last ten games .

I am hoping that Grabban could be in line for a return against Villa. That would leave a space alongside/in behind him. I think MoN will go for Carvalho. The clamour for him has been building and he put in an encouraging performance in his cameo off the bench on Saturday. I think that makes his claim harder to ignore.

Been quite a bit of fallout from the Brummie derby. Hoping the distractions for Villa will see them perform similarly to how Forest did after the El Cloughico at Stoke. 😁

I'm assuming Grabban won't play. I think that Ansarifard did enough on Saturday to merit starting against Villa. I liked the diamond in midfield but I think MON will revert to 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 which would see Carvalho starting behind Ansarifard. I wouldn't expect either of them to play 90 minutes.
