Our loss form this season

9 games lost this season already is pretty abysmal for a CL club. Has there ever been such a high turn over of defeats in a season for a top 4 club ? Let’s be honest that number will be 11 with the inevitable losses to Liverpool and City away coming up, which will put us pretty much on par with Wolves and Watord in terms of defeats, just not good enough this season. Our lack of draws has masked it because we have racked up the points with more wins, but potentially 11 losses is really poor going this season. The squad needed freshening up and its come to fruitation this season and those number of defeats are unacceptable.

I can understand why you'd think that Don. I'm more optimistic about our CL hopes. I do believe we are good enough and capable of winning it. Teams that have done worse than us in the league have won it before - Liverpool won it in 05 when they finished 5th in the league with 58 points (2 less than we have now) and Chelsea in 2012 when they finished 6th with 64 points. I know it looks like we won't be good enough from our league form but I wouldn't be surprised if the players have it in their minds that CL is the one they're thinking about. Look how we were 2 seasons ago; rubbish in the CL and went out in the group stage losing twice at home. In the league we never lost once at home and got 86 points.

Regardless of how we do in the league, the players will put everything into trying to win the CL and I believe we can go far in it.

Some Spurs fans never learn do they. It honestly is the hope that kills you. We are serial losers. Honestly, supporting Spurs is a chore at times and the constant let downs that we experience are all too common. It's boring, the same cycle of shet. Do well up til it actually matters and then watch all our hopes get crushed.

I hate Spurs at moment.

Wtf has happens to son since kane has come back

What has happened to US since Kane has come back? We haven't won a league game since he did, whereas our previous 3 without him we did.

Could this be key to why we're underperforming? I mean I love Kane and he's even in good form but why has that meant we've stopped winning? Son is obviously less effective now as a result. Or is it coincidental and it's just the fixtures since Kane came back are tougher?

It's hardly unrealistic mate. I'm not saying we're going to win it, and I wouldn't be surprised if we fell at the next hurdle in the competition. I also wouldn't be surprised if we made the final either, and I'm clinging onto that hope, as I am the hope that we can make top 4 again.

Makes you wonder if they ease off a bit when he’s back, psychologically thinking they don’t need to try as hard as he’ll shoulder the burden of winning games for us. Even a 5% drop off at this level is enough to start dropping points. The Burnley defeat was the worst for me, an opportunity to make a claim on the title race and we bottled it. Eriksens performances second half of the season have been shocking, I almost feel as if I don’t give a fack whether we sell him or not. Get Coutinho in a swap deal.

It could well be that Ace. The players may feel slightly more unified without Kane as they try to pull together to get us over the line in his absence. Remember how last season when he was out briefly the performance level seemed to go up a notch? Scored 10 in 3 without him and then 8 in 7 when he returned.

Kane is Spurs only goalscorer in the past four games, so laughable to say Spurs would do better without him.

Really simple and basic way of looking at it to say this player scored our goals so if he didn't play we wouldn't have scored any. Clearly it doesn't work like that and was proven when we didn't have Kane available and instead Son stepped up.

There could also be an element of the rest of the squad feeling Kane gets special treatment, he walks straight back into the team when fit regardless of results without him. He also never gets dropped regardless of his form. What message does that send to the other players who have performed well in his absence. They realize that no matter how well they perform, they could be left out out once Kane returns. Some players may be OK with this, but others may get the hump.

So one of the absolute top strikers in the World should have to wait before getting back into the team, for fear of upsetting another player

I’m sorry, but if a player’s performance level drops because he is upset, then he should not be near the team in the first place.

I think a couple of the key reasons for our drop in form over the past 6 weeks are: a) No Dele..............he gives the team an edge and a has a good empathy with Kane, hence his assist yesterday.however it was his first game back and he needs to get fully match fit.
b) Eriksen’s sharpness seems to have deserted him, and is this because his mind is on contract talks and the possibility of going to Real or PSG?

Remember too that even though we won games, our play since December has left a lot to be desired.
