Blackpool

Just watched the piece on One Show about Blackpool fan's scheme to oust the Oystons from their club. They bought the club for £1.00 in 1988
in that time they had some success (taking them to the premiership) but underlying they were robbing the club blind, add to that allegations of rape and ,fraud later proven.
Hands up to them they cleansed their club of a pariah by boycotting the club they love.A lesson to us all' MOT

Boycotts work, it’s much easier with a small fan base.

Worked to a degree at Leeds.Whilst Bates was getting breakeven crowds he was happy to stay. When they finally dipped below and their were no players left to sell he was on his bike.

Leeds fans really should have done a lot more and full credit to Blackpool. Love the fact they finally have their club back.

It did work at Leeds eventually, but we have too many fans. Too many loyal fans that did the club no favours imo.

I proudly call myself a loyal fan who attended most home games during that period. Am I to blame for a succession of catastrophic owners?

No, but if everyone had stopped giving the club money in any way it would have speeded up the sale of the club.

And potentially caused us to plummet into League Two.

It shouldn't be left to the paying customers to get rid of bad owners. The EFL have consistently failed to prevent unsuitable people buying clubs and ruining them. Blackpool is a particularly bad example, but there are plenty of others (Portsmouth, Coventry, Bolton, Leyton Orient, Port Vale etc) where the authorities sit on their hands rather than taking action.

And we wouldn't be where we are now

How does anyone know where we would be now ?
