France selected a Newcastle reject over Martial for the world cup. They have previous for this sort of thing. Absolutely no idea how they can overlook Laporte. Then again Germany didn't select Sane either. They're all clueless clearly.

Tbf Thauvin had just had a fantastic season for Marseille

Brazil seem to have a similar problem of just having such a wide group of players to call up that they tend to leave a lot of good players out

France's squad depth is ridiculous, so you it's not a surprise to see good players left out. But Giroud and Zouma getting picked ahead of vastly superior players is a bit silly.
