Should have waited until the end ..

.. of the season to appoint Ole

We could realistically lose another 3/4 games before the end of the season. I was never a fan of him getting the job but to be fair, the run he was on made him deserve the chance to be given it and after the PSG game I would have walked on hot coals to give him the role.

But I am a fan and an emotional, reactionary (moi? 😹 ) one at that.

The club should have waited - that’s not to say I feel Ole WILL be a failure. What the fack do I know about anything? More that with the possibility of a more realistic look at his pros and cons as a manager a more informed choice could be made this summer.

Oh, and I agree with Melts, suddenly every win, loss or draw is down to the manager.
Well, it's not.

It was under Mourinho

It wasn’t then either.

Ed, you are a better man than me because I do not think Ed Woodward is capable of doing any forward thinking. As much as Mourinho was a caaaant, if he did not alienate the players and just kept attacking the board, I would've supported him to the end. Pep spent 250m on fullbacks- we are millions of miles away from City

He spent half of that on full backs (well, Begiristain did). Although for Mendy, that's worked out at about 5m per game

What are Ole's qualifications?

I can't imagine a whole lot of top players will be bursting their arris to play for him and the attraction at United will continue to be money and just about nothing else.

I think it was another emotional and headrush decision from United.

You can actually argue they'd have been better off appointing the Wolves manager who is better than Ole on paper.

Obviously that's not necessarily how it works and there's a chance I could be wrong and Ole will succeed but I really don't think I am.

I don't believe he's as good a manager as the form suggests. That really mostly is about players gaining confidence from Jose leaving, just as the Chelsea players did when AVB left. Is Di Matteo a manager that would ordinarily be good enough to win a CL at any club? No.

Ole might get top 4 again next season but he doesn't strike me as someone who is going to manage this team to a title and close the gap on City. He feels like quite a safe, nice guy option.

I'm sure you can search for his qualifications by yourself.

There are clear and obvious reasons why Ole can be given a go with the job and last night's defeat doesn't make it the wrong decision - let's judge him in 2-3 years.

The Wolves manager would actually be a decent candidate but there's nothing to say he's available - he signed a contract extension just this year I believe and just like Poch, it's not a given that he could be acquired.

Ole is a sensible choice for now and we'll see where the club is in 2-3 years.

You don't seem to understand some human nuances and manners of speaking.

Interesting that you've ignored the rest of the response that was perfectly reasonable and just focused on the part that you can argue.

I felt your post was probably a little bit of trolling but gave you the benefit of the doubt - I won't bother in future.

Let me know if you ever grow up and maybe we can discuss football then.
