even his excuse is laughable

i get the burden of proof but can't they smell bs when it under their noses and call it out?

It was a nonsense charge anyway.

What next? Are the BBC going to haul in John Cleese for his salute 30 years ago?

It's an absolute joke and probably the FA's way of dealing with what is a hyped up issue by the permanently offended brigade.

Aye I agree with Winston. Not entirely sure why the FA got involved in the first place.

The gesture was in bad taste but it was club 'banter' so I don't know why the FA felt they needed to be involved.

Agreed. I'm sure the furore surrounding this will make even the drunkest footballer think twice in the future - which can't be a bad thing.

What he did (& he obviously did it) was extremely unpleasant & I welcome him being called out for it but unless he committed or incited violence no action should be taken against him - it’s a free speech issue & the FA should not get involved.

If FA aren't involved, there's riots. If they are involved there are riots. FA haven't exactly ever covered themselves in glory in the past dealing with incidents related to race well. Who remembers Terry getting punished for calling Ferdinand a black caaant for the less than half the games as Suarez got for biting Ivanovic?

The thing is whether Henessey meant it or not, with the current situation of racism occurring on a regular basis, a strong stand should've been taken to make an example out of him. Not punishing him is a bad move imo.

It's more him begin dumb than it is him being racist though surely
