Based on salary and performance, we should get rid of Ozil and Mkhi, but probably wont be able to as no one else will pay them that much. We save money on Cech and Ramsey salaries. Those 4 would give £740,000 a week saving on salaries.

After Kronke pockets his cut of the savings we would have maybe a cool half million a week available for wages for new signings.Players brought in should be starters who push the deadwood down the rankings.

Cech, Ospina, Monreal, Chambers, Mustafi, Lichtsteiner, Elneny, Welbeck, Suarez, Ramsey

These players are either leaving or I'd expect us to sell on.

Personally i would also include the likes of Xhaka, Kolasinac, Jenkinson, Mkhitaryan, Ozil all off the books as well. But realistically the squad will suffer if we change too many players.

We have a massively average squad. It's a miracle Emery has even got us within a sniff of top 4 because our squad is 6th best, tops.

Would agree with that. I'm biased and think Nuno should get manager of the season but holy hell with the shower of sh*te Arsenal have on their books Emery has worked bleeding wonders. If Arsenal do get top 4 there should be a statue of him commissioned.

Like United there is so much deadwood on silly money although at United I imagine the wages are off the scale for the likes of Rojo.

Nuno Santo was a shoe-in for manager of the year if he got in the FA cup final. I still think he should win it, tbh. He's done an excellent job with Wolves.

Generally happy with Emery but the lack of quality in the squad might (and i think it will) prove our ultimate undoing. We've got mediocrity running right down the core. If we can somehow sheiteshow a CL place then I'm very optimistic about next season.

As it is, we've got a long way to go. We wasted 2 transfer windows so it will take about 3 or 4 to sort our garbage out.

was about to comment on how Wenger crippled our defense by paying that priiiiick Mustafi £90k/week but then I realized we are paying Denis Suarez 6 figures a week to scratch his ass

Wenger made sure him and the players got handsome contacts,he was nothing but a leech.

Kol, Xhaka and Mustafi I fully expect to improve with this manager. He's already done well with them so shipping them out now and needing 5/6 players instead of 2/3 is totally the wrong move. Given the money and market in football and the current excessive demands of most players plus Merc demands of their agents. I struggle to see where/why people have a problem with what players are being paid barr Ozil and Mikhi. I'd expect most any PL player, at a club of our standing, to be on a minimum of 50k up, unless he's a kid. That's part and parcel of being one of the top clubs. Ozil should not have had either of the last 2 contracts he got. However the number of Ozil butt kisser fans we had insisting we keep him since he got here, means people aren't in a position to be complaining now he's proved nothing but a wage leech 3/4 years after many of us said it.

I think we need to face the fact we lost big on Ozil. And if we want to compete for the top prizes, we'll have to wait until his contract runs out or take the cash hit and move on. Top players are needed to push on and we SHOULD have enough in the bank to get them in without going into debt to do it. So let's just draw a line under him and get it done. Because we'll be stuck as long as we keep trying to get back, keep or get value for any money related to him. Choice is have him cost a bomb, doing nothing and us winning nothing fighting for 4th because he handicaps the squad, lowering revenue. Or have him cost a bomb doing nothing so cut him out, bring in what we need and get back to CL by right, standards, increasing revenue.AFC needs Ozil out of the club but we can't have that so next best thing is out of sight and out of team, squad and value for money/recoup any money, mind.

Ozil horse is lame so let's just shoot it and move on already.

I did wonder because given the amount of talk about our prohibitive wage bill over the years, I expected higher amounts next to several players names.

The total wage bill is public knowledge but the individual breakdown has never been.

I googled it used this one, but sort of assumed that wages were known so it was just the layout that I went for.

https://sillyseason.com/salary/arsenal-players-salaries-69062/

having had a look this one is a bit different.

And there may be others as well.

Havoiing done a comparison, the second one is more believable for the likes of Laca, Auba and Kos.
