Alternative thread, the other will probably go to 400/500 comments so will get lost in that. OK here goes. 5 games left of a wretched season. Derby away today and pride park. Not a happy hunting ground for Bolton. The last 3 have been beaten by 3 goals and relegated there in 2016. Small mercies cannot be mathematically relegated today but the fat lady is practising for good Friday against Aston villa or Easter Monday against Blackburn. Team news. A mentally scarred, still unpaid, beaten already bunch have travelled on the day. Lowe, wildschut out for the season, Hobbs, Murphy, connell doubtful. Possible recalls for Buckley, Taylor, connolly who sat out midweek.

Very difficult to take much from what he said on Sky it sounds like there a lot still to be done and that three year premiership plan has already gone out of the window he did grasp the blaming other people line from Ken though.
His hopes seemed to run through it he did mention that word a lot.

He hasn't even done a complete DD, saying there wasn't enough time and he needed to be in control to do it. He is gonna be in for some big surprises there!
He 'hopes' the club is in better hands now.
He wasn't very convincing to me on that sky interview, but he is all we have now.
I suspect he will consolidate all debts into one big debt.

Mr. Bassini is full of hope but doesn't seem too positive that the club will be safe in his hands. That's not too encouraging for the fans.
He is the new owner but what happens if he fails the test? Does the club have to be sold on, does Ken come back into the equation, is there a clause in the contract in case of that outcome? Everything is signed but not enough details to make a sensible guess on what will actually happen.
All we can do is hope that Mr. Bassini has enough capital to sort out the mess without having to take out a loan to fund the club.
We all know that will be a complete disaster. Underfunding has been the problem over the last three-plus years and if that's is going to be the case again, we would be better going into administration and sort it out from that point.
At this point, we have no alternative but hope that Mr. Bassini has all bases covered.

If he fails the EFL test then it is more likely Admin or await the courts decision, and then liquidation.
Bassini has a pulse and has filled the EFL form in, so he must have passed already.

you're probably right Isaac but there has been considerable concern and comments directed at the EFL due to their lack of diligence when vetting prospective owners. Bolton MPs have contacted them about their concerns. Just maybe they will be more diligent this time around. However, I won't be holding my breath.
On football-related matters, I wonder how many changes Phill will make tomorrow. I'll go for five. He hasn't played a settled team all season, so I expect another defeat although I sincerely hope that I'm wrong.

Seems simple to me. Shows he has the money to efl to fund club or he doesn't get it. Back as we were and go in admin.

The Easter weekend starts here we have the possibility of relegation today perhaps Monday or another day depending on results elsewhere.
Now I'm not a religious man there's a story linking everything that's gone and this weekend.
Not long ago I did see some what I assume were younger fans questioning why we have a club Chaplin perhaps they need reminding we've always had one for a reason leading right back to our clubs roots.
I best wait and see if the Beano do something
