United secured second place in the Championship this weekend, while Ross County may not be technically Champions but it would take a fairly staggering turnaround in goal difference for them to be denied.
Well done County, as ever the best team wins the league.
What the last couple of weeks have done though is give me renewed optimism for the play-offs. When will I ever learn?
We've taken a point in Dingwall, while we've beat both our potential play-off opponents. It certainly looks like the legs have gone for Ayr while winning in Inverness - who are the likeliest opponents imo - is a welcome sign. Especially since they have a draining double header prior to playing us.
If we get through - and I do not take it for granted that we will - then it looks increasingly unlikely that we'll play Dundee in the playoffs, as they look doomed for the automatic relegation spot after a horrific weekend for them.
Back to United though, it's about keeping players fit while maintaining form ahead of the playoffs. Sow was apparently going to start on Saturday but when County won Neilson decided to rest him completely. I find that odd and would have preferred to give him more minutes, but that's the managers decision. Safranko seems to have reacted well to competition and scored a cracking first, before McMullan continued his scoring streak.

Feel sorry for the Dees.
Then I remember the nonsense around the Doon Derby and I stop feeling sorry for them.

What was nonsense about it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All of it.
Even leaving aside the coffin, the very fact that the fans still go on about Wighton's goal relegating United show the lack of understanding. Even without that goal we were relegated at Dens.

It would not have been the same to draw and send you down though would it? It was basically a nail in the coffin. Something for us to celebrate for once. It's not the same celebrating closing out a draw is it? Let us have that one.

I just feel sorry for whoever it was that scored the equaliser. He was the one that relegated us, not Wighton. Poor guy. A true Dundee legend, forgotten.

It deflected in off Hemmings from a Ghdalfkzlsosoov or something header. Not really a worthy drawer.

Ach well. Hopefully Forfar get up too and gives us a local Championship if the inevitable happens and we don't get promoted.

We need a couple of rubbish teams to fill the bottom two spots next season just to be sure. We could easily end up like Partick. We are just a name and some fans now. Nothing else to us, so who knows what actual team we will have.

I saw a few Dundee fans at the weekend saying how they couldn't wait to ship out the duds and bring in a brand new team.
We used to look forward to that too, until you realised the new guys were worse than the old ones.

You sound like someone who has gone through a break up trying to give advice to someone trying to save their marriage.
We are different we can get through this and come back stronger. But that's exactly what you said when you were trying to save your marriage, ISN'T IT??

I'm not saying it too loudly, but with Dundee, Arbroath and potentially either Montrose or Forfar in the Championship next season, I wouldn't be too upset about it.
You look up at the Premiership with its sectarian nonsense, attacks on players, flares and missiles and it doesn't look all that much fun.
Let's all have a nice trip to the seaside instead.
