Christian Erikson

Amongst the multitude of rumours at this time, one piece suggested Spurs would sell Erikson for £60m ( he has 1 year left on his contract). Would this be worth United pursuing, and if so, would that be to supplement the midfield alongside Pogba or as a potential replacement?

If Spurs are in the CL and Utd are in the EL then there’s far more chance of him renewing his deal at Spurs than going to you; he may have an eye on certain European clubs, but if they have preferred targets such as Hazard and Salah he’ll find himself down the pecking order and might realise he’s better off where he is. Plus, Levy will make it extremely difficult for any PL club to buy him.

300k a week at United and he will be gone. Doesn't matter if they are in the EL or just the Emirates cup he will be gone.

You can put a 1 before the 6 with ed involved in the deal

Levy will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of bending utd over

Our owners are business people and if they want Salah they have to pay near 400m. Salah has four more years on his contract and Mane is the same.

Finding wide players who score 20 goals every season is very hard.
We will take them to the cleaners.

Eriksen either goes to Barca/Madrid or signs a new contract with us imo.

I would expect our final offer to be 180/200k per week, so in line with most top players.

If he leaves it's for a top club. He is 27 now.

Usual tried and tested solution. Fall further behind everyone else, then let's just buy and take the easy route. Let's not actually work with ( and improve ) what we already have, like others do.

Also let's continue to assume everyone wants to go to ManU.

And let's just assume our top 6 rivals are so in awe of us that they will simply agree to sell their best players to us, probably because we have loads of money and they are all skint and have to sell no matter what.

Everyone knows that FSG will take them to the cleaners and do what they want.

It was great the way they dispensed with the £40m "consideration" clause for Suarez.

Tbh I think spurs salary bill is a bit of an issue for them.
If you kick on to be a top club you have to reward the players that get you there, and pay them top wages.
How can you claim players are worth 100million + and pay them salaries 15-50 million pound players earn?
Truth is you cannot.

I think Spurs may find that Levys reputation for deals and bargaining may hinder their ability to sign or retain the best players. I hope not as it would be a shame to see them not kick on due to penny pinching like they are still a 'top half of the table' team.

Seeing the recent transfer activity, after saying the stadium wouldnt effect spending, doesnt install much confidence though, and I think its fair to say spurs have been treading water this year as a result of it.

Pay Erik!!! Payyyy the mannn!
