After watching tonight...

My first choice XI has changed a fair old bit.
I know its early in Romeu's CFC career but I think he could become a star.
McEachran is only confirming what we already know; that being that he has something incredibly special about him, he's a quick thinker, a great passer, and controls a game. Luiz is my favourite player. He really can defend - and very well at that, and the scary thing is, he's only going to improve. Along with Ramires, young and incredibly gifted, he will keep improving.
We really suited the 4-2-3-1 in the second half on saturday and it seemed to be the factor that got Torres going.
So how about:

Cech
Ivanovic - Luiz - JT - Cole
Ramires - Romeu
Sturridge - McEachran - Mata
Torres

Cech.. nothing needs to be said, best GK in the world.
Ivanovic - so much better at RB, he is class there, so hard to beat
Luiz - as i said, so underrated as a defender, and we all know what he's like going forward.. brilliant
JT - Captain, leader, legend.. he and luiz could form an incredible partnership, they compliment eachother so well
Cole - a few people have been negative about him, hes still the best LB in the world, he'll hit form
Ramires - the vital box to box man that you need in this system, hes got it all - and anyone who doesnt believe me, just play back that goal vs citeh.
Romeu - looks like he could well be the replacement for the bison that we crave. Brilliant tonight, tenacious, tough in the tackle, can pass.. he's similar to Essien and Sandro, but also has a great pass in his locker.. A touch like Busquets.. combine the three and its Romeu
Sturridge - the most direct player we have, will probably be our top scorer this season.. but if torres gets firing (which i'm almost certain he will), then he'll have some competition!
McEachran - The most technically gifted player on chelsea's books. The sky is the limits for the boy, he really could be one of the worlds best players. Play him now, and he almost certainly will be.. he is definitely ready.. although maybe not for 90mins.
Mata - Genius, we all know it, 'nuff said.
Torres - The worlds best finisher once upon a time, you don't lose it over night, he's on his way back, the creativity is there for him.. he'll start firing.

That for me is an incredibly strong line up, it has the battlers, the creativity, flair, strength, pace, youth, experience, the lot. It's exciting.
Then remember the bench.
Didier - A handful, still arguably one of the best around on his day.
Lamps - If we use him right he could be an outstanding impact sub
Meireles - Great passer, he will unlock things if we're struggling
Anelka - has proven he makes an impact from the bench and links well with Torres.
Alex - beast

Then of course, Malouda, Bosingwa, Lukaku etc.
I for one am so excited about our side.. the youth out on loan is brilliant.

The only problem is, I've just spent half an hour writing this.. and it's never going to happen.

Maybe not week in week out, bring in lamps, meireles or anelka every so often.
And yes Meireles has been very good for us, but McEachran has impressed me even more. Ramires at the moment is key for us.
So, yeah I respect what you've both said, Meireles has been brilliant, but i feel that McEachran can do what he's done but possibly even better.
And Gazza, McEachran has himself stated that he is best in the no.10 role.
Messi is small, and he can play in that role, along with silva and plenty of others.
I don't see why his height should hinder him.
Plus I don't think he needs to be particularly quick, just needs to be able to pick a pass and be creative, which he is. But he's not exactly slow, we saw he can accelerate with his disallowed goal, he left the defenders for dead.
But a week ago I wasn't thrilled about our midfield.. now there is a lot of competition for places, and just imagine when essien is back. We've forgotten about Mikel too.
Its a lot stronger than we thought, or certainly than I thought.

I think the team should be this with rotation though

Cech
Bosingwa/Ivanovic Luiz/Ivanovic Terry Cole
Mikel/Romeu
Ramires Mceachran/Meireles
Stturridge/anelka Torres Mata

Bosingwa to start against teams like fulham and norwich teams that are hard to break down and ivan for bigger games well need his strength ..

Luiz for me is th eonly defender tha carrys the ball out he makes those runs and looks for the forward pass always keeping the tempo fast .

Romeu and mceacran are too young to start week in week out i think meireles should start with mceachran on around 75mins with romeu instead of kalou and malouda who have enough time as it is .... then some games they start like home games against swansea etc ....

Fair point, he is stronger than you think though.
Well, this formation of mine could easily be a 4-3-3, but i just thought chelsea play better with a 4-2-3-1.
I do understand what you mean though Gazza.
But.. is he worth a try there? He could surprise you

Everyone seems to still be picking Sturridge, despite him yet to have a good game for us this season, yet leaving Nico out, who has only had one bad one.

He was good vs Leverkusen, you could argue the same with Cole and Ivan who have only had one good game so far with more appearances. I don't know why you're so against Sturridge

McEachran needs to start!

I don't know either! I mean I think he is a real talent, but I just can't seem to buy into the hype.

For me, he just seems so greedy, and when I see Nico actually impressing, I don't see why he is rated so much better than the latter.
