Lots of posters here bring up wingers and the defence but our biggest rebuilding task in the summer will be in the midfield
In my opinion the only starter we have in that position is Torreira

We have good players in Torreira and even Xhaka in my opinion (they're no worse than the options other top 6 teams bar City and maybe Liverpool have). I don't see midfield as a crisis area compared to our lack of wingers or any attacking midfielders with some kind of drive and dynamism. Ozil and Mkhi aren't wingers and have been mostly crap. Iwobi wouldn't start for Fulham. People continue to play down our problems in this area, but in a season, we lost Ox, Alexis and Walcott and didn't bring in similar replacements. That is a genuine crisis area and it affects how we play, how we set up and even how we defend. Teams are well suited to squeezing up high against us and suffocating and pressuring us because we lack players who can burst through the lines or get behind the opposition defense and keep them on the backfoot.

Xhaka is not good enough. I would take Ndidi of Leicester over Xhaka. That is how average Xhaka is.
We need a minimum of two very good midfielders in the summer and find away to rid the deadwood- which by the way includes Ozil.

Defence should be no1 priority. 2 CB, LB and maybe even a RB.

If we had money to spend I'd get - Maguire, Chilwell, Wan Bikaso, De Ligt. £200 Mil plus right there.

End of the day if you keep a clean sheet you don't lose the game.

Those wouldn't be realistic. Factoring our limited budget, I'd say we "need" one top CB coming in (Skoratis, Kos, Holding and the returning Chambers would provide decent cover) and Mustafi getting traded to the German 2nd division, one RB, a playmaker (a Rosicky or Santi-type player) and our top marquee signing should be a top winger/wide forward.

Depends on what you mean by "good enough". Again, he is no worse than the options of our other rivals in his position. Players like Jorginho, or Henderson, or Winks, or Matic etc. Now compare garbage like Iwobi to Hazard or Mane or Son. Hell, compare him to Ryan Babel. He's pretty much the only winger in our team and he's garbage. The issue is not so much how good we are in CM, but our options are decent and can compete with anyone outside the top 2. But in those wing positions, we are absolute garbage.

Well I guess Monreal's rapid decline this season (he's been our most consistent, solid defender in the previous 3 or so seasons) has exposed us a tad in that area. But I feel like RB is more an emergency. Think of all the times we've played Mustafi or Leichsteiner or Jenkinson or AMN there. I don't know what kind of form Bellerin would be in next season having missed so much football.

Xhaka is good enough to start for Arsenal. He needs a player around him who is more mobile and can run. Gwendouzi isnt that guy. Xhaka needs to cut out his mistakes. His long range passes are good.

If it's between a RB/LB, surely we go for a LB. Monreal is completely finished in this league, and Kolasinac isn't even a LB.

We need two midfielder, at least one wide player, we need a complete rebuilt of our defense.

Xhaka is not good enough to start for us but could be a squad player, he should never form part of your 1st XI though if you are serious about challenging for the title.

I'm happy with Maitland-Niles & Bellerin at RB/RWB but Monreal is finished as far as I'm concerned and Mustafi needs to go too so a LB and a CB are the priority. Think it may be difficult to find an LWB that is actually an upgrade on Kolasinac but would be nice if we find a player that could replace Monreal and play both LB/LWB positions.

Certainly don't need a goalkeeper to replace Leno but someone to keep him on his toes and cover if injured - yes.

I agree with. CB, LB and a wide forward but the lack of effective midfield control is what leaves our defence exposed.
We have no control in that area with this lot. Xhaka is slow, ponderous and lacks awareness of runners, Ozil is lazy and cowardly, Elneny will struggle in the championship and Gwen is not ready.
Just imagine what a peak Rosicky/Cazorla and Vieira will bring to this side.
