Here we go then on what a lot of us thought would be the last Matchday Thread of the season ……..still realistically this has been a bloody good one compared to recent years and I suppose we should be happy to be where we are
On to the thread, Leeds v Ibsich…..Isbich...Istwich…...no matter how it's pronounced lets give the Travelling Faithful a Big end of Season party > with a good win.
Venue.....Portman Road...Date...5th May....Kick Off ... 1230hrs
Team News
Leeds United
Leeds will be without suspended Patrick Bamford after his two-match ban for deceiving match officials in the draw against Aston Villa.
Fellow striker Kemar Roofe (hip) is also expected to miss out again.
Ezgjan Alioski and left-back Barry Douglas will both miss the rest of the season following knee operations.
Roberts up front ?
Ipswich Town
Ipswich will check on the fitness of forward Will Keane ahead of the visit of play-off bound Leeds.
Keane went off early in the defeat at Sheffield United last weekend with the recurrence of a hamstring injury, while winger Winger Gwion Edwards has been carrying an unspecified muscular problem, while veteran defender James Collins (calf) is another to be assessed. Wales U21s striker Ellis Harrison is making progress from a back problem, while Emyr Huws (knee) and Jon Nolan (Achilles) also continues his recovery

Match facts
Ipswich have won seven of their past nine home league matches against Leeds (W7 D1 L1).
Leeds United haven't completed a league double over Ipswich Town since the 2001-02 season, winning 2-0 earlier this season.
Ipswich have lost 25 league matches this season, only losing more in two previous campaigns - 26 in 1963-64 and 29 in 1994-95.
Leeds have lost their final league match of the season in just one of the past 11 seasons (W6 D4 L1), a 1-2 defeat to Leicester City in 2011-12.
Paul Lambert has been victorious in the final league match of each of the past three seasons, winning with three different clubs - Blackburn in 2015-16, Wolves in 2016-17 and Stoke in 2017-18.
Since Patrick Bamford's second goal against Preston in April, Leeds have found the net with just three of their past 112 efforts at goal.
That last stat is obviously worrying and has cost us big time this season, but hopefully we can rattle a few in to end the season in 3rd place
I'll go for a 0-2 Scoreline with Pablo and Roberts getting the goals

Leeds Utd v Ipswich Twn Matchday Thread

That was dire . Very casual first half , worrying thing is they were trying in the second and still conceded twice
. Roofe stunk the place out, worst performance from any player all season. Casilla was poor. Goal was both him and Ayling.
Moment summed up our season - Clarke and Pablo unable to score when they had all the goal to aim for.
I was confident for playoffs after Villa. But now...bricking it.

Still.prefer Cassilla to BPF.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People liked to dissect every error perceived or otherwise from bpf. Nobody wants to apply the same standards when assessing Casilla. I mean he played for Madrid didn’t he.
He’s a positional road crash and does something stupid pretty much every game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think BPF's mistakes were over -dissected? Really?
He got more than enough leeway. Everyone wanted him to came good.
But he couldn't come for crosses and any shot from outside the box he was out of position, flat footed and elastic-wristed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not what I said sol. I said every goal was dissected and casilla has had a free pass.
He’s made regular poor decisions and mistakes that would have been brought up had bpf made them.
We all know bpf made errors, so has casilla.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What free pass? Have you read the comments on here today? And other matchday threads.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. He’s not getting a pass today, hence we’re discussing it, but relatively he has in the past in my view.
But hey you think he’s a big upgrade and you’re happy with him. I think a change was needed but he’s been a disappointment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, my personal opinion is he's an upgrade on BPF. And I disagree with BPF being over-dissected. He had loads of leeway up until it was painfully obvious he was a liablilty.

BPF made some clear mistakes, but then every goal was, ‘could he have been a yard to his left’. People who know f all about goalkeeping were blaming him for not coming for crosses that hardly any keeper would come for. But he did make mistakes, that’s not in question. In my view so has casilla, from day 1, but he’s got away with a lot of them... it’s when they clearly cost goals and points that people take notice.
All about opinions. Let’s hope he gets his act together and helps us win the playoffs.

Atm, I have Casilla in front of BPF, but not by a lot at all. Kiko needs to step up big time.

Two cup finals in four days coming up boys!
How many away tickets do you boys sell?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sheff Utd brought over 2,600. Derby normally only allowed half of this, must be that big flag you bring which reduces your allocation.

Looking forward to the “semi final” against you. We are hitting form at the right time. At least we have got Tony Pulis sacked.
