Right now that the excitement has

almost died down on Wednesday`s remarkable game, we switch our attentions to the Everton game on Sunday. Need to finish off the season with a win, no doubt one or two will get rested, really do not want to rest the whole team and get beaten say 4 or 5 nil, and let Arsenal back in. Unlikely to happen, but this is Spurs were are talking about.

Moving on to the final in a little over three weeks time, and sounds like Harry Kane will be back. It is unthinkable that he would not start that final if he is fit. Now I know some will say, ah but we should just have him on the bench. Are you kidding? Yes Wednesday was a great result, bit it still does not paper over the cracks of the very poor form since the New Year, CL aside.

Spurs had not scored a goal in four games until midweek, so it is essential that the main man is back in the side. Now who to drop. Not sure really would you just leave one of our midfielders out, say Wanyama or Dier, one is bound to be starting, or would it be Son, who other than his two goals at City in the last round, has not been in great form, and he did not have a good game midweek. Obviously Moura with his hat-trick has cemented his place in the final. Eriksen and Dele goes without saying, they will both be starting. And what about the defence, some say Verts is injured, is he and if he is will he be back in three weeks time? The right full back position worries me a lot, surely Trippier cannot start can he? Although Poch does seem to favour him, with all know he is a massive weak link. Will Aurier be fit by then?

Selection problems for sure, but that is what Poch gets paid for. Anyway let`s give the boys a rousing reception on Sunday on their return to WHL, cannot wait for the game now, whereas just under a week ago, I was looking to give my ticket away for free.

A week is a long-time in football as they say, last week, after Spurs had just capitulated at Bournemouth with 9 men, top four and CL for next season looked difficult, and with a deficit to make up away from home in the CL, elimination from that competition looked a distinct possibility. Fast forward six days, and top four and CL is all but done, and Spurs are going to grace a CL final in just over three weeks. Football is a funny old game as they say.

End on a high with a nice home win to secure 3rd. Dont think Chelsea will beat Leicester, especially after last night.

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Toby Davies
Dier Sissoko
Eriksen Dele Lucas
Llorente

play like we did 2nd half against ajax we should walk it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
isnt that it though if we had played the whole season like we did 2nd half we would be winning the premier league so why cant they ?

so after a hundred years of basically nothing, spurs finally reach cl final in the most dramatic fashion, and two days later the excitement has already died down

what is the point of being a football fan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well because it is not a hundred years of basically nothing.

Seven FA Cups
Two Leagues
Four League Cups
Three European Trophies

plus countless other finals.

So that works out at an average of say one trophy every six years over 100 years, which is not to be sniffed at. Something United will probably get nowhere near in the coming 100 years, if the current trajectory is to continue.

Well we all know Spurs will not play like they did against Ajax, may just get over the line against Everton, but not expecting a champagne display. But as long as they get the job done, then performance does not matter that much.

united have won a third of that since saf left

the point i am making is that surely wednesday was the game you have been waiting for all your life, and today, just two days later, you are already worried about the next game. if joy is so rare and so fleeting, why do we even support football teams.

Sandy's not speaking for every single Spurs fan here.

I'm still on cloud nine and probably will be for weeks. Can't help but grin every time I think of that winner

I am thrilled with the result mate, but it is only a semi-final. I usually reserve total excitement for when Spurs actually go on and win trophies.

I mean are Liverpool fans going to be overly excited about finishing 2nd?
