Out of all the comedians that got to do the celebrity live audience, his first one (along with Les Dawson almost live) is the funniest I’ve watched.
I understand “the need to protect the public". But I always felt the public name and shame thing they had going should not have been brought in with people still trying to earn a living in the public eye, without having indisputable proof or at least a cast iron case.
That experience broke Freddie Starr (from what I can tell, he died alone last night) and perhap the way these cases are handled moving forwards needs some review?
RIP Freddie. I will always remember you for the comedy.
RIP Freddie Starr

the fact he wasn't charged still wont change some people minds unfortunately, allegations is all what it takes to destroy someone now days, it should be once your charged name and shame and the other way round

He did lose a libel case against defamation which suggests there is some truth in it.
He was mates with Jimmy Saville, that arouses suspicion in itself.
And that 3 separate complaints were made against him.
And he went into hiding in Spain after, not exactly the mark of an innocent man.

Although of my age group, I never ever liked comedians like Freddy Star, Jim Davidson, Bobby Davro ect. Just never found them funny at all.
Now Ken Dodd, Tommy Cooper and Spike Milligan were different gravy.

So what you're saying HB is he's guilty by association?
Maybe he went to Spain to get away from all the finger pointing. After all, no charges were ever brought against him and in the 18 months he was under suspicion he was vilified left right and centre.
I'd fυсk off to Spain as well if unfounded allegations were directed towards me and the media published the details of the allegations.

One of the funniest live shows I ever had the pleasure to watch.
His "Vincent" routine was comedy genius.

Freddie Starr always spent a lot of time in Spain. I actually met him briefly a couple of times and have family living in Spain that knew him through their businesses.
