A two year deal for David luiz. While not an absolute top class defender due to his lapses in concentration, I'd say more often that not he plays well and brings alot to the team. More importantly than all of this though he is a leader and brings something we'd massively miss with our current crop of players if he were to have left, both on and off the pitch.

This idea he's a leader is very overstated, there's a difference between having a personality and being an on-pitch leader. He can't keep himself focused half the time, how the hell does he keep his teammates focused?
But he is a Chelsea guy. Those two years we was at PSG just felt weird. He's a crazy b@stard, but he's our crazy b@stard.

A very sensible decision ,and well done David.
A good man to have around the club and youngsters for his experience and personality........... but he does infuriate me at times

How I would've said it if I wasn't so blunt.
Exactly that

Hmmm...like him and fear his mistakes

And when was his last big one? David has been huge for us and it seems very under appreciated. t seems to some people that even though he captained Brazil, he's still not good enough to do it for us.

Fine by me...him and Rudi are tidy enough....we need to improve on full backs though...Azpi included now

The mauling against Germany tells you all you need to know about Luiz as a captain. When the sh!t hit the fan he crumbled more than anyone else.
He deserves respect for the passion he clearly has for Chelsea, and he is a great player (mistakes aside), but he's just not a leader or captain material. It's not him.
