Do you guys regret missing out?

How annoyed are Gunners fans that you guys missed out on these 2

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/960301/sir-alex-ferguson%27s-personal-touch-captured-defensive-duo?cc=5739

Looking at your defence atm, these 2 would easily walk into your team and with a decent goalie in Sznznznzy behind them, you guys may not be in the situation you find yourselves in atm.

I have never been so excited about defenders as I am with these 2. Their potential as individuals and more importantly, as a CB partnership is immese. Just goes to show how influential Fergie is.

Of course, as a United fan, I know that feeling of 'if only' when top class yougnsters slip through our finger tips. Bale, Silva and even Ramsey are players I regret us not signing.

Ferdinand would be no where in this world if it wasn't for his good mate Gary Neville protecting the right flank for a decade.

Notice how he's rarely played since G Nevs retired.

_______________

Silly arguement really, show me that centre back that thrives without a full back. Besides, I never new Gary Neville was a gem of Centre back never mind him not playing the season that Rio lifted the Champions League and Premiership.

Having said that, Arsenal cnetre back will still be shyite even if best full backs are donated to them.

Arsenal already have the best right back in the premier league. But you are correct, their centre backs are 'shyite'.

See Mascherano comment for centre back who thrives without full back. Barca being the best team in the world does not count as a counter argument.

So would he be as good at that role if playing at Arsenal and they played 3-4-3?

Yes.

Infact he'd excel. There's only 2 or 3 attacking teams that play fluent enough football to trouble him.

I'm suprised no one has yet adopted the 3-4-3 formation yet in the PL.

I don't know about them walking into our team but yea I am gutted we missed out on them. What annoys me more is that we apparently offered both of them more money than United did yet they still picked United over us. I was never sure on Smalling when United signed him (turns out he is class) but I have been a big fan of Phil Jones for nearly 2 years now so I was devastated when I heard he was going to United.

Wrote this the night Jones had agreed to join United

I actually admire Fergie mroe for signing SMalling than Jones

Everyone knew Jones was class, he was followed by City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs (confirmed by 'Arry and Blackburn)

Smalling was a risk and Fergie taking a risk signing a guy with literally no trakc record or experience was just a masterstroke

Don't rate Smalling all that highly. Good but nothing too special.

Jones will be with you a long time. He's going to be class.

Fair enough

Personally think Smalling has shown enough to convince people he has all the attributes to excel at the highest level for a long time but hey, if you don't rate him all that highly, you don't rate him all that highly

"Your only other input was to state that Smallings skin colour is infact a tight tracksuit. That is a disgusting comment and you are lucky I didn't report it."

That is not what I said at all, you should re-read the comment with a level head. You're obsessed with everyone being a racist - is it any wonder that there are so many problems in this country when people like you run around the place trying to stir things up.
