More and more reports seem to be indicating that Sarri is out at the end of the season and lampard is in. Regardless of both mangers respective results at the end of the season. Can't pretend that iv seen much of derby this year but I think the fact Frank knows the club, knows the young talent were more than likely going to have to use and is a club legend would be win win for everybody involved. Would we all be happy if him and morris got the job ?

i think with a transfer ban coming the club will want an air of stability and good feeling and someone who can develop young talent
we havnt apealed the transfer ban which tells me the club don't want to
either because they know they wont win
or they will find a good excuse not to shell out a load of money
either way they will have to reduce expecations and start building internally, the possibility of Cech or someone coming in as DOF makes me think this is their way forward
its actually a perfect time for Frank to come in

Okay, we sack the manager who gets us champions league football, and meets most of the expectations.
Would you really expect the club to show much patience with Frank? Sacking Sarri would only prove the opposite.
And that good feeling its unlikely to last if we start struggling...
DOF going to Cech? Why exactly?
We shouldn't really be building our future solely on nepotism...

Sacking that happened after the CL achievement, doesn't outweigh that magnificent feat.

It doesn't no...
But we shouldn't be hiring managers based on this strategy...

I seem to remember the scenario and conversation at Sarri's arrival. It was about consolidation and rebuilding with most agreeing he will need at least 2 seasons before we pass judgement.
He came very late and had very little preparation time with players resting after the WC. Considering that he has performed well above our expectations, with the exception of failing to sufficiently blood young talent. He had his almost sound reasoning for that too.
I'd put a big bet he will be here next term, and I'm content with that.

if Lampard was to come id like to see him given the best support possible and that would mean bringing back Steve Clarke to get our defence back in order it hasnt been the same level since he left. JT as assistant giving orders from the dugout and frank working the tactics as apart from being a football great he is also well above average intelligence.

Too many cooks I'd say. Lamps + Morris is plenty.

its lazy journalism for one and is deffo not happening
Sarri has met his objectives so also will deffo not be fired
but ill indulge this frankly absurd scenario
Guardiola had 1 year at Barcelona B before taking the biggest job in the world ,its almost the exact same scenario here.
its high time we started not only producing our own players but also producing our own managers,
If sarri goes ( which he wont and there is zero evidence to suggest he will ) then Lampard would be my absolute no 1 choice
id take him over any of the so called big names the stupid board would eventually go for should Sarri leave ( which he isnt )
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Frankly absurd - like what you did there!

Be a bit awkward - Stevie Clarke was appointed Scotland manager this afternoon!

I agree with those who think it might be a bit early for Frank. He is an intelligent individual but I think he still needs to build up his experience levels before being ready to step into the bear pit that managing our Club is. He has enough credit in the bank to be given a very long time by the fans to implement his ideas but whether this board would give him that time I don't know.
Not personally a Sarri lover due to his reluctance to trust in the youth, relying on older players (even when they're clearly not doing it and should be left out) and his one dimensional game plan, but he did get top 4 and got to 2 Cup Finals so I can see why some say he should be given another season. As a Chelsea fan I hope I'm wrong but I suspect that his tenure will ultimately result in failure. Time will tell.

A lot of fans speaking with their hearts not their heads here. We criticize the club for lacking long term vision & making impulsive short term gain decisions, hiring Lampard now is just another example of that, albeit one which placates the fans. He'll fix the division in the fanbase short term, will fix the youth integration problem short term, but we could stand to gain something much more profound long term if he stays right where he is for the moment.
This reminds me of the advocates for Morris to replace Conte last year. It was too soon, too much of a shot in the dark, and in the space of one year that was proven true - he teamed up with Lampard and together they complement each other very well. Hiring Morris would've been the wrong decision because something greater has emerged from it, this is exactly the same. I wanna reference Chelseamf's point about the parallels of going from Benitez to Mourinho in 2013 because that's ironically exactly why I don't want Lampard now. As uneventful as it was by our standards I loved everything about the 13/14 season because for the first time since 2003 we had a manager who united EVERYONE : Roman, players and fans all pushing together. With the right circumstances in place that could easily be Lampard in the future but not now - Fans? Of course. Players? Could go either way. Roman? Highly doubt it.
First and foremost I wouldn't sack Sarri. Although with the transfer ban I suspect it might be a mistake not too part of making a genuine attempt to change our philosophy as a club extends beyond how we play on the pitch, at some time we have to put a manager first when there's a reasonable doubt against him especially due to circumstances out of his control. But if we do decide to make a change, which I would understand, we need to own the reasons why, accept who we are (a club who fixated on tomorrow rather than 5/10 years down the line) and bring in someone short or long term who stands the best chance of getting that top 4 place next season. Unfortunately that isn't Sarri, but right now it's certainly not Lampard.
