I thought last night was a terrible 'advert' for VAR. Took much too long, and then got it wrong (for the offside).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In what way was it wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't think it was offside. You agree it took too long though? Maybe it was the gobshite wittering in my ear in the pub, but it seemed like a lifetime to me from incident to resolution.

It took way too long but it was clearly offside. Unless you disagree with what the technology "proved".

Must admit, I didn't really follow the deliberation, watched it, watched a replay - ignored it all until the game started again. If I was wrong, that's fine too.

It was the length of time to make a decision to actually refer it to VAR that I found odd.

I tell what does need to stop, TV presenters calling it "Var", instead of "V.A.R.". Made me feel unwell.
