The King is dead, long live the King.
After releasing Billy in the summer, United have DRAMATICALLY SWOOPED to sign his brother Adam King on a free transfer after a successful trial period.
Adam is a central midfielder and many of you might remember him being signed by Swansea as a 17 year old and appearing on their bench a few times. Unfortunately he never progressed and like many young players down south he did the rounds on loan.
Welcome to Tannadice Adam. I hope you're significantly better than your brother who was not very good at all. Adam signs a three year deal.
It does suggest we're likely to move someone on and it seems likely that this will be Sam Stanton, although there is interest from Csaba Laszlo and his new team in signing Rachid Bouhenna. I do like Stanton but the reality is he's too 'nice' to make it and disappears when things get tough. A neat and tidy footballer though.
In far bigger and more important news though, United released pictures of the new home kit next season and OH MY WORD I'M IN LOVE
It's absolutely beautiful.

Just take a minute to look at it. Drink it in. Admire the sheer beauty of it.
Obviously it's been modelled on the incredible 85/86 VG kit and this is an absolute winner. If you're a United fan and you don't love it then quite frankly you need to have a word with yourself. If you're not a United fan then you probably love it too, and rightly so.
I don't believe in grown men wearing football tops (unless you're playing 5s) but I'm seriously considering adopting a child just so I can buy them this top. It's magnificent. Also black shorts make me happy.
Well done to United and well done to Macron. It's good to get away from the rubbish catalogue kits we were getting from Nike and getting a good bespoke kit like this.
Hopefully this kit will be remembered as the one we wore when we got out of this wretched league.
Mon the Terrors

I am designing my own tartan for my mum's wedding. My family tartan has too much dark blue in it and she is an arab. It is also my dad's sides tartan so inappropriate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both parents probably have the same tartan no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what you get up to on the west coast, but we tend not to marry family members over here

I was suggesting you did. Not my fault you east coasters don't get humour
The McKay / mackay tartan is very similar to the black watch one.

Considering going to the Hearts v United game tomorrow night. It should be a decent crowd.

In the United end?
We should bring a decent crowd down, I'd have thought. Not sure how excited the Jambos are for the season though - don't think many are over-excited about Levein for this season and his style of play.

I go to quite a few Hearts games. In the home end obviously. Yeah but Hearts usually get a good crowd no matter what.

I'm quite disappointed I'm not going to be honest. I love going to Tynecastle. Probably my favourite Scottish ground. Absolutely skint though.

I can’t really tell the difference between Dundee and Dundee United. It’s like rugby league and rugby union.
You know. Both gaay.
