They seem to be doing more business than Spurs.
With a little over two weeks until the start of the season, and not a sign of any new players coming in other than Ndombele, is this going to be yet another underwhelming transfer window for Spurs.
Should have had three or four new faces wrapped up by now, as we all know their were major deficiencies that needed shoring up from last season. But it seems nothing has really changed. Net spend so far of about £30 million, hardly really strengthening the team.
Rumour after rumour, but not a sign of any players. It is starting to get very worrying, especially as Spurs seem to be carrying a number of injured players, or players that have had no pre season, or may still leave.
What should be a settled squad going into the new season, looks a long way from that at the moment. I was feeling fairly confident two or three weeks back that finally the club were going to invest heavily in players, but not so now.
It would be a real shame if we only sign one player.

Would be peak woodward to slap down 40m a few hours after the release clause expired

Still won’t stop levy selling him if a offer comes in tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’d think if anyone actually wanted him they’d have just got him for the guaranteed £25m, rather than having to enter a negotiation process - especially with a well knowncunt like Levy. It’s actually really perplexing to me that we haven’t had a single offer for despite it being known we’d have sold him last summer, and despite every man and his dog knowing about the release clause. £25m for him is a facking bargain. Like - Man City, with Kompany retiring, he’d be an ideal partner for Laporte. Utd didn’t even sniff. I don’t get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Teams get desperate near the end of the window.
Doubt it will happen but you can’t say never with levy

Tobys release clause expired 45 minutes ago. Extremely unlikely he will leave now, much more likely to sign a new deal or simply see out this one. If Eriksen goes we will reinvest the money, if he doesn’t then great (as long as he signs the new deal we’ve offered).

Sorry Ace........Toby’s buy out clause expires at midnight
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it don’t. The clause says it ends 14 days before the end of the window.
That would be 5pm today and this is confirmed by a respected Belgium journalist
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s what I’d assumed - 2 weeks before the window closes would be exactly 5pm today. Anyway lets not get all Winston about it. Unless someone bids, offers him a contract, does a medical and signs him in the next 20 minutes I think it’s safe to say he’ll be staying.
Just wish we’d take the opportunity to offer him a deal and sign him up for 3 years. We’re not gonna find better than him anytime soon and we’ve got him in our grasp.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ace, I am sure they have been offering him a decent deal, just doesn't want it. He will walk for free next year, but at least Spurs get another year out of him.

Vinai Venkatesham, the managing director of arsenal himself has said that there is no £40 million budget, yet most of Twitter believes in what the media say
Thank you for asking. Invention of the media
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Makes sense. Would be madness to announce your budget.
Though it must be a relatively small budget if you're bidding Less than 40m for Zaha.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you think at Arsenal working amateurs who dont know what they doing? Besides that I dont even want Zaha for that money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As your sentence construction is abysmal, I'm going to guess at what you mean here. Yes, I think Arsenal are indeed run by amateurs. Please read the Swiss Report on PL revenue; Arsenal are criticised for their management of domestic, foreign and player revenue and also on expenditure (e.g. player wages and director dividends).

Bloody hell, what time do you get up Sandy?
I think he wants to go to Ajax next summer and £25m is a lot of money for Ajax to spend, so they will wait for the free. Toby has looked sharp in pre season and Poch seems happy enough with him so that’s good enough for me.

Obviously didn't want to test himself in a great side and shuns CL experience. Clearly lacking in ambition...
