For me - that he won't join until January is key. We have to build on what we have - which is really promising anyway, and then (when we traditionally have a blip), have a real asset to help us finish well

As I said earlier baz, it was reported here on the sports headlines this morning. When a country renowned for not giving two hoots about soccerball is reporting it on its main sports headline, you know it's a big deal. Derby county are now known about down here. We are literally worldwide news right now.

Jorvick, the other scenario is we are in and around the auto places, the blip never comes and Wayne's arrival allows us to step it up a notch and steamroller the league for the rest of the season, being promoted as champions.

You can still get 18 to 1 on Derby for the Championship.

Good shout Heb... I'll give you Crouchy. While I wouldn't say he's improved with age he has certainly maintained a respectable level for a very long time.
However looks like he's picked 'media personality' rather than coach for his post-playing days.
Also not sure you can coach ' being very tall'

Crouchy was deceptive, he looked ungainly because of his beanpole appearance but he was actually quite skillful.

their season ends in October, he joins in January, I wonder how the fitness levels are going to be.
(also if he picks up a long term injury before then does this still go ahead, or is there a clause that means it could still not happen)

I would imagine he will come over as soon as the MLS season finishes and train with us. I don't know for sure how the laws of the game work but if DC have agreed to terminate his contract then he will effectively be a free agent and will be allowed to train with us, just not be registered as a player to be in the squad until it's "official" on Jan 1st.

This video appears to have been filmed BEFORE Rooney flew to England?
No wonder Mel was smiling when they interviewed him arriving at Moor Farm yesterday morning, the job was already sorted!
