Whilshire the most overrated player ever?

Was Wilshere not one of the best players on the pitch when Arsenal beat Barcelona?

By the way i saw people saying that how come wilshire got player of the year when he didnt help arsenal win any trophies

Hmm do these same people also disagree about scott parker being named footballer of the year?

Even Rodwell has got more goals and less yellow and red cards and he's a defensive midfielder

if your basing it on this season then i would say that rodwell hasnt even played half as many games as wilshire this sesaon

For what its worth, i think the media may be overhyping him a tad much but i think he's still a teriffic talent and has been one of our best players this season (although thats not saying much considering our second half season collapse )

You should know why the media are hyping Wilshere up (or any one else), its so they can knock him down at the earliest opportunity or write front page stories about his private life from who he thought were mates.

Changing sports but when there was rain yesterday during the tennis they asked a newspaper journalist how good it would be if Murray won Wimbledon and my 1st thought was great because then they would write stories the next week about his private life.

i see him more of a gatuso type in the future- hypes the team and fans up. but he does need a kickass beard.

You don't watch arsenal every week, read the papers and assume he is overhyped because they do it with almost every english player.

He plays as a box-to-box midfielder so he's hardly going to shine like hernandez or bale appear to.
