United goal correctly ruled out for offside but a foul created the offside. In my opinion a free kick should have been awarded.

Why a var call with a 5m offside decision.

Because he scored and it's best to be 100% sure

The VAR check was to check that Pogba actually made the pass to Rashford, rather than the Chelsea player tackling effectively making the pass. Not that difficult to understand.

Not a VAR mistake. But a ref mistake. Once the goal was correctly ruled out he should have awarded a free kick. The foul came before the offside.

Apparently the rules are that VAR checks every time the ball goes in.

Neo is correct about why it was checked. It was a challenge between two players and if it came off the Chelsea player last, it would have been a goal. They weren't checking the line for offside but whether it was actually possible for it to be offside
