Was just thinking about this cause was talking to a mate about how successful the loan system is and who have we sent on loan who has come back and actually flourished in the first team? He said Origi but then Origi's loan was actually pretty poor in terms of how he performed in Germany.
Anyway this led to me thinking that the best goal from last season, Big Div's v the BS as home, Pickford's tiny arms etc. basically saved his career as a player playing for a big club, had that goal not gone in I doubt he'd have featured much more last season, but it did, it was great and the rest is history.
It's ironic too cause it was a filthy challenge by Funes Mori that put a real dent in Origi's leg and career, he was flying at the time when that filty cant put that tackle in. So great that he got back on track by scoring the most hilarious goal of all time, v the horrible rotten bitter cants, and this led to him scoring twice v Barca in the greatest comeback of all time, and then scoring the goal to seal number 6.
Also what is your opinion on the loan system and how it has or hasn't benefited us? Will Wilson / Woodburn etc. really benefit from it and end up making a real mark in our first team? Any good examples of players who have gone on loan to really then contribute to us long term?
Also Everton are muck and their fans are bitter to the bone.

origi at one point was in the Belgium squad and played ahead of benteke and lukaku.
one world cup they did at least.
His attitude was frankly suspect at Lille and Wolfsburg and even at ours under klopp the season after the 6-1 win.
the question is; has he really learned or has he just had a bit of a purple patch?
I would however comment that his ankle was broken by a certain thug so that did hurt his progress.
if he has the work ethic he can do a job but it will only ever be a bit part job.

I would add though, loans are not brilliant.
clubs are saying you are not quite good enough so off you go.
some people prove their club wrong, like kan e but most prove their club right.
young players need consistency and chances imo. you cant get consistency with loans.
I think players who've moved permanently early have done better than serial.loanees

Origi is a stone cold killer, ice in his veins. He doesn’t need to celebrate like a mad man
Also loans are massively beneficial for the player, but generally because it offers them an opportunity to showcase their ability to get a move somewhere else where they can have more game time, as opposed to breaking into their parent clubs plans.

How many loaned from Chelsea (not this year) got.into their first team?
lotus cheek... barely.
Christensen... not great.
courtois... top top at atletico
there's 40 odd a year or something?
it seems to me a rather pointless exercise if the objective is to bring on your own players.
it's 95% about market exposure and player value.
if a player is good enough they don't need a loan. if they are not they go on loan and mostly then end up.moving.
the best Harry Wilson could have hoped for he got last year and it did him no good.
taa walked into our squad by contrast.

Origi reminds me T-1000. No emotion...just a stone cold killing machine with one mission in mind.
If we cracked him open, he'll probably bleed liquid metal.

Origi is muck on a stick mark 2000
but he's done the business in fairness.
