I havent played in 9 yrs but return this week back at the driving range.
A combination of triple fracturing my ankle in 2010, then having a heart attack in 2014 just put playing golf as a very low priority.
But I'm ready to go again, and picked up a nice set Callalway clubs for under £800.
I used to play twice a month for about 9 years before the ankle injury.
Wasn't particularly great, my handicap being 14, but did enjoy playing.
Theres a golf group at my work that play once every three weeks or so at all the local courses around work so will join that once im up to speed.
Any one play regularly and at what level?
Golf: who plays on here?

I don't play since I retired, it's too expensive for me here. Until then I played for about 50 years probably between 40 and 50 rounds a year. Great game, never got really good officially off 13 but could play quite a bit better than that.

I can give a bit now.
Read Vivian Saunders book The golfing mind, no jargon and it gave me great advice.
Practice.
Get your clubs checked to make sure they fit you, lie, grip etc.
Practice much more on and around the green, unlike most. Even for a pro half his shots are putts.
If it's windy or wet or both, it is for everyone else too.

Went to the range yeaterday and did surprisingly ok. Muscle memory served its purpose.
Need to just flex my right leg a little more in the back swing but the rest was ok.
Practice makes perfect so off i go again today

Since I have retired I play at least 3 times a week.
It gives me the exercise I need and it's great banter as we have 5 different premier league teams supported in our group.
