The point I'm making is that you laughed at Spurs for winning the net spend trophy. But when it suits, as in this article, you're all pleased to point out you haven't spent anything, net, so can't compete with City on squad depth.

Its a statement of fact that we didn't spend and can't compete with City for depth and you trying to say we have reduced authority to complain about squad size because we laughed at Spurs for having the net spend trophy is ree tarded logic.



Spurs used the net spend/smaller squad excuse for two seasons and that was OK with you so what's wrong with Liverpool doing it in similar fashion?

Nowadays when you have a pop at Liverpool it doesn't even have to make sense.

people need to remember that laughing at spurs is a prerequisite in all situations so its not logical to think that anything used as an excuse to laugh at spurs is useful.in a real discussion.

I'm not having a pop at Liverpool. Any long time poster on here knows I have a soft spot for the club, and think you have a great manager. But I surely don't have to agree with all the fans on here do I?
I just thought It a touch hypocritical having gone on at Spurs fans for net spend, to use the same argument to show why you would write off the LC. It was hardly an abusive post.
Sometimes you're all over our board Klopptimus, and it's never complimentary.

We haven't really had bad draws in the CL...especially in the groups. PSG?....serial CL bottlers. Napoli? really...we made it hard for ourselves against Red Star.

The season before that we had an even easier draw.

We're knockout specialists though and I am sure every team in Europe is dreading to get us.

League Cup & FA Cup should only be taken THAAAT seriously if we make it to the semis....other than that...meh.

Its just really poor wumming effort.

22k user innit.

Everton have spent £500,000,000 in four years. No excuses for not winning everything apparently.

Net spend is important and if we didn't have to recoup our outgoings then our second XI would be much better.

Coutinho & Can in our reserves would make a lot of difference to our depth especially when considering the versatility of the two.

That's the difference between us & City. City can spend fortunes. We've done well to get BIG money for our outgoings (most of the time).
Benteke/Coutinho etc. and then we reinvest.
That's the only way we've managed to compete is through our outgoings.
