Today we will see who we face in the Champions League this season
Its good to be back in the competition this year and i am really excited to see how we fair.
Mario Melchiot has been quoted saying we are like Ajax this season. There are some similarities in the fact that our squad is young but we do still have some great experience in the side. So i think drawing comparisons with that very good ajax team last season is probably doing us a disservice
That being said, I think for Lamps it will be important to still be competitive but his main remit is to qualify for next seasons CL. Another great test of Lampards ability as a coach so early in his career.
I think from the way we play this season we can cause quite a few upsets personally, i dont think there will be alot of teams who will want to play us.
Looking at the groups and teams there are no easy games.

Dont think he means the comparison as a disservice mons, ajax were exceptional last year in the competition and i'm hoping we could replicate that type of run.
Looking forward to the competition, I think we could make some upsets.

no what i meant was is that yes we have young players but we also have the likes of pedro, willian kante and kova who are very experienced at that level

The CL draw is more about who you avoid rather than who you get. It is all about putting yourself in the best position to avoid the toughest teams.
Spurs are in the worst position because they are not avoiding the top seeds like Barca, Bayern, PSG
Liverpool, Chelsea and City are in the next worst position because they are not avoiding top teams like Real Madrid, Atletico, Dortmund
Man Utd are in the best position as we are avoiding the top 2 seeds such as Barca, Real, Bayern and the English teams as well.
In order to avoid drawing top teams, you have to put yourself in the best position to do so, and that’s what United have done better than anyone else.
