An early start in the morning and a 257 mile journey to the priestfield stadium as Bolton begin a new era. Been an awful bank holiday weekend, losing 5-0 at home to Ipswich, the EFL threat to give 14 day notice of eviction from the league on Saturday night, the statement by the administrators as we were having a bank holiday Monday lie in that there was no money left and a threat to close down the business on Wednesday! All seemed to kick start people into action as 2 days later Sharon brittans football ventures finally took control of the club and hotel. We can now talk about football again. A new manager is on the agenda. Nigel Pearson and Kevin Nolan are the two ive heard most, also Keith hill has been mentioned. Also new signings. 12 more professionals are allowed under the terms of the embargo and expecting a busy day of ins as the transfer deadline closes on Monday. All that for the future as interim boss jimmy Phillips takes charge for the 2nd game of his 3rd spell as manager. Team news. One addition to the squad as jack Hobbs finally signed his new contract, Dennis politic has also made the trip so there could be 2 welcome additions to the side that played Ipswich, also hobbs will release Lowe to return to midfield. Should be a stronger team tomorrow albeit weak on the left side of defence and still no striker options. With 2 weeks to the next league game the Gillingham game could be Jimmy's last in charge and probably the last for some of the scholars to impress.

Just a bit worried getting beat by 5 by very poor teams which gillingham and tranmere were. A lot better sides out there. Monday is crucial for me.

As far as I, and everyone else no doubt, is concerned the heavy defeats end here. No more excuses from here on in.
If this is not an advert for not just throwing in all the kids then nothing else is. That said I do belive 1 or 2 of them should be given the chance to continue to play alongside more experienced players.

Not overly pleased about Hill coming in as manager, had an argument with him a few years ago over a garden fence in Harwood.
'Spose the good of the club comes first this time, unfortunately for me.

Agree above. Politic and brockbank ready for first team football but not every game. The rest. White and king arms promising. Edwards b4 he got injured. The rest nowhere near.

Being realistic, we can't expect Hill and Flitcroft to be able to turn our results around overnight. If and when we have new players coming in, I doubt that they will all be up to speed. I think it might be after the January transfer window before we start to see a team that will make the difference that we need.
