I'm beginning to think Ole might be a sort of caretaker manager, appointed to appease the fans whilst the club looks to overhaul the football side of things (DOF, Tech Director, new manager, squad overhaul)
I also think it's possible Ole may end up in the DOF / Tech director role and even act as caretaker manager again in the future.

The technical director role is little more than a ruse to appease the fan base. They won't be identifying or signing players. All it will be is another face in a pretty big crowd. All of whom are answerable to Emperor Ed

Imagine. Employees answerable to the boss

I don't agree. I think that Ed is feeling the pressure and realises that he has messed up with a lot of transfer dealings and needs help. All the noise coming out of OT the summer indicated to me that Ole was having a lot of input into the transfer targets. It seems that the decisions not to sign/pursue Dybala were down to Ole. So i think that we are seeing a much more focused approach to transfers and would expect the DOF to be involved in the process

Didn't say otherwise. What I did at least strongly insinuate was that the position being created was nothing more than a very weak attempt to appease gullible fans, and that it would just be another face in a big crowd all toeing the line and having no impact on the actions of one man. You understand?

Intentional or not Ole’s tenure at the club does have a very caretaker feel about it he really needs a few wins to create a feeling of authority which I don’t think is there just now but oozes out of Klopp and Pep

So does anybody agree with my theory??

OP, can't remember who said it on another thread, might have been yourself, but I think it's quite plausible that Ole could move upstairs after overhauling the squad. So far the things I believe he has gotten correct, is getting rid of players that don't suit what he's trying to do or want to play for the club. He has shown a ruthless streak in that regard. The signing, so far I think have been decent. This season he hasn't lived up to the tactical expectations, but that could change. If he doesn't I see no reason why he couldn't move into the DoF role and bring someone like Poch in.
