On Saturday Wolves welcome Watford to Molineux.
Currently bottom of the league, Watford nevertheless have only 2 points less than Wolves with neither side having managed a win this season.
In their respective previous league games, 10 man Wolves earned a point away at Crystal Palace with a goal scored deep into extra time.
Watford suffered a drubbing of epic proportions when visiting the Etihad Stadium, the 8-0 score line being a record for the most goals ever scored in a Premier League game by Manchester City.
On 7th April the two sides met at Wembley with Watford scoring a late winner to end the game 3-2 in their favour and deny Wolves an FA Cup final. Three weeks later Wolves beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road.
When the two sides met in the league last season they both enjoyed away wins and suffered home losses. Nuno Espirito Santo will be urging his players not to allow the same thing to happen this time. Meanwhile after his side’s humbling defeat, Watford’s manager Quique Sánchez Flores will be demanding a reaction from his players and will be looking for that elusive first win.
One worrying question will have no doubt entered the minds of many Wolves supporters, ‘Are Watford this season’s Huddersfield?’ Despite a stellar season, Wolves had problems with breaking down lower league teams to get a result. No team made this more obvious than the hapless Huddersfield. Whilst languishing in the bottom three for most of the season, they managed to beat Wolves home and away, an embarrassment to players, manager and fans alike!
After resting most of his senior players during the week, Nuno will have a full squad to choose from with the possible exception of Patrick Cutrone who was injured in the closing stages of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game with Reading.

I like Cutrone and he is good cover for Jiminez but not as good. Neto also is a good signing and will only get better. Jordao showed plenty of promise on Wednesday and will be good in time. Vallejo is a real disappointment and you wonder how he managed to be up amongst the best of Real Madrid and Spain’s youngsters. Wouldn’t right him off yet but there’s a lot of improvement needed.
To cope with the extra games we needed more players and to maintain or improve on last season they needed to be more like the finished article than the ones we bought in. Don’t personally think we have missed Costa or Cavaleiro because Traore offers more than them, but we needed at the very least one more central defender and an attacking midfield player to give the squad more depth

254 the gate which is a shame because Molineux will be packed tomorrow and the football will probably not be as good as this

As wolfie correctly stated at the time, we needed players that were better than what we had already, but at the same time not challenge the starting XI and risk upsetting the dressing room by trying to leave someone out. A difficult balancing act for Nuno and the jury is out on whether he has succeeded.
One thing is certain, it's a roller coaster ride supporting this great old club. So buckle up and enjoy the ride or naff off and go support another club.

Samuels, Ashley-Seal, Thompson and Taylor Perry the standout players tonight. Sanderson also very good.
Expect to see more of these guys being integrated into the senior squad

FT and Southampton run out winners at 2-1. Wolves will be disappointed with that but didn't create enough in the second half.
Good game though, I enjoyed that.

Saw some of that U23s game and Benny Ashley Seal certainly impressed again. There are similar aspects to his game and physique as Tammy Abrahams and he must stand every chance of making the grade

coincidentally the same score as their record away defeat. the fact that i was there would give you a clue to who gave out the thrashing.
