Portsmouth v Bolton Wanderers

Another of the long haul trips today, a lot of them this season, seems no middle ground between local trips and the long ones. Portsmouth this time, struggling 2 points from the bottom 3 surprisingly after getting to the play offs last season. 10 years ago this was a premier league fixture and Bolton won 3-2 at fratton park with goals from tamir Cohen, Matty Taylor and Gary Cahill. Portsmouth were relegated that season and the clubs haven't played each other until now. Team news. Jake wright and Ben alnwick have joined the injury list which includes josh earl, Harry brockbank, Chris o'grady, out until late October, Joe bunney and Connor hall long term. One bit of good news Daryl Murphy has travelled with the squad. Possibly on the bench? Yoan zouma most likely to come in for wright. Two late withdrawals as ye old pasty and superwhiteinexile have announced their unavailability for this afternoon.

Looking poor now. No outlet. These are just above the relegation zone btw.

Huff and puff but nothing going forward for Bolton. 1-0 to Portsmouth ft. Even further adrift .

First game for one of our strikers today, there’s time yet
Let’s hope it works in the long term. 1-0 away,
Home form hopefully will do the trick.

A good point. We really need a striker or two to be up and running. Meanwhile, Mr. Hill wants another winger in the shape of Ben Marshal. He's been a good player but is he fit and ready to go? Has he scored many goals in his career or is he just a provider? We have two wingers but we don't have anyone to finish. The problem is there aren't any or many options out there who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis that we could afford. If other members of the team were scoring goals we could get through this tough patch but they aren't.

Until we get our strikers up and running we are going to struggle.
